Hello, Please excuse the mistakes if there are any in this post or where I have placed it, I am visually challenged!
Basically to avoid using a reader and trawling through the whole site which will take years, I would like to know, so I can make an informed judgement if Gallery2 is right for me, if it is possible to add batches of images to gallery2 albums like in CopperMine and is there a facility for users to add images to their own albums?

Apologies but I am short for time.

Thank you in advance.

There is a bunch of ways to add items in batches.
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:How_to_Add_Items
It depends on your work flow for the best method to use.

You can add uses and give them permissions to add items or there is a module for when a user registers they are give their own album and can add items to it as they wish.

We have a quick start guide:
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Quick_Start_Guide

But you have to be specific as to what you want for a customization.

Hello,

I am very grateful for your help it saves having to listen to hours of irrelevant information which is confusing to say the least
I want a gallery similar to the underwater site on your examples page but in burgundy do you think it possible for a blind person?

Thank you sincerely again,

There is a lot of examples so you will have to give specific info or the site in question so I can guide you.

For color changes there is a color pack module. It is a bit more complex than just changing the background color because the font color and other aspects might have to chnage as well.

Hello Dave,

May I call you Dave? I am Daniel and I cannot express my gratitude enough for your assistance so far.
OK, the site that is impressing people here is: http://underwa.ter.net. Apparrently our colour scheme is going to be Burgundy.

Can you tell me if this a complete customisation or a variation on one of the themes?

Thanks,

Kind regards,

Daniel.

Daniel, thats my site. It's based on the slider theme, with some modifications. These have been documented at http://gallery.menalto.com/node/56845. That is not meant as a step by step instruction, more of a guide to the thinking process.

Hello, thanks very much for that, it is apparently a very beautiful site and I would like if possible to use the theme for one of my galleries. Would you mind if we used the theme obviously, its not going to look anything like the stunning example you have built.
But, I,m hoping it will be good.
Thanks again.
Daniel
