Ive installed G2 from a control panel on my web hosters control panel and Im trying to upload my albums from G1. Ive followed all the steps in the FAQ and Im still having problems.

When I go through the process of uploading an album using the module in G2. Select the album that I want to import and trun of creating thumbnails ( so I know its not a problem with a graphics tool kit) then "prepare install" and then "import". The screen with orange bar on it appears and it with sometimes allow me to continue but usually it progresses for a bit and then freezes. When I look at whats been imported its usually about half.

There are no error messages but Ive copied in what was on the screen below for 3 different attempts.

Also Ive tried checking system integrity with the updater but it always give me; "The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request. The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log. "

I dont know if it helps but sometime I get this same error ("The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request. The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log. ") when I try and delete an album.

Ive also dissabled square thumbnails and EXIF data extraction with no avail. And increased memory to 64M with an entry in the main.php.

You will probably need to increase memory even more or inport smaller chunks.

Ive tried importing an album of 166 photos and it alsways stops at about 110-140ish.

The used memory always shows about 13M though? What should I increase the memory to?

Increase memory and import smaller chunks, perhaps over 100 is too many?

I cant go less than 100 because that is the number of files in an album and you cant import half an album.

Move some items out of that album import them then move them back. or increase the memory until it works for you.

I would prefer to try and fix the problem as I have over 60 albums and most have over 100 pics.

Increase the memory even more.
Or you could dig though the migration module code to make it work they way you want.

Anyone manage to fix this problem?

I have only just setup Gallery2. When I create an album and add my first picture the progress bar does not move. If I go back to the album my image has uploaded and the thumbnail is then made on the fly.

anyone got any ideas?

My php memory is set to 128M
