.htaccess? (Need help installing Gallery)

Ok I am trying to install gallery 1.5 on my website and on step 8 it gives me an error. It also tells me to go to system check and make sure that everything is "success". When I do that, it gives me one warning,

Memory limit (8Mb)
Warning
Warning: Your PHP is configured to limit the memory to 8Mb (memory_limit parameter in php.ini). You should raise this limit to at least 16MB for proper Gallery operation.

How do I fix that??
