Error: Invalid Image

I'm running on a Linux, Kernal version 2.4.18 and Apache Version 1.3.26.

When I try to upload any image, I get the following error:
Processing status...
- Adding 2-Clipboard.jpg
Error: Invalid image: 2_Clipboard.jpg!
Need help? Look in the Gallery FAQ

I went through the FAQ and couldn't find anything relavent.
Any help would be appreciated.

FAQ C.2 is pretty darn relevant. Please report back with debugging details.
