I installed Gallery via a web host provider (iPower) and when I tried to log in a few weeks ago was unable to. I emailed iPower support and they were not able to help me and in fact told me "The gallery website isn't connected with any gallery installs." and suggested I look at the documentations. I have done this but cannot find anything to resolve my issue. First, I don’t understand what iPower meant the gallery isn't connected with any gallery installs. As you will see by the print screen below it appears the gallery is installed and located at http://area11sova.org/public_html/. Here is some information and print screens that will hopefully help someone help me!

1 – I did not install anything myself. I simply went through the Control Panel when I logged into my iPower account and selected the InstallCentral-Gallery in the Scripting and Add-Ons section.

I did not have to do anything to install the gallery, I assume the setup was handled by a script and I never received an information regarding how to access the files in any other way nor was I given the path or URL of the installation location so I could access the configuration wizard.

2 – After the gallery was installed I just went back to the Gallery via iPower web hosting by clicking “Manage” to take me to http://area11sova.org/bublic.html/

3 – When I select “Manage” I am taken to the Photo Gallery where I can login, create albums and upload pictures.

4 – When I click the login link a pop up window appears

It has been awhile since I've actually logged in because I had the password saved. Recently when I attempted login in I get “Error: Please enter username and password.” I tried to type in the password combination and tried all possibilities but am unable to sign in. Now what I need to know is how to reset the password.

5 – I have read through the documentation but have not been able to figure out how to do this. I'm not even sure what version of Gallery I'm on. I thought it was Gallery 2 and that is the documentation iPower support directed to but the Gallery 2 troubleshooting instructs to choose the "Forgot Password" link on the login screen but my login screen does not show one.

Gallery 1 has instructions to create a file named resetadmin in your /gallery/setup directory and then use the configuration wizard. From the documentation I understood to find this directory I should go to path http://www.example.com/gallery/ and replace "example.com" with my domain, which is area11sova.org. When I attempt to go to http://www.area11sova.org/gallery/ I receive "Page not Found".

6. I am seriously at a lose for what to do and am concerned. When I first encountered the problem I didn't understand why my saved password didn't work but now I believe my Gallery was hacked. I have discovered that one of the photo albums was renamed and inappropriate tags were added to the photos.

If anyone can PLEASE help it would be SO appreciated. This photo album is for pictures of Special Olympics athletes and I really need to figure out how to get this x-rated comments off of the pictures.

your gallery at: http://area11sova.org/public_html/albums.php most installs are done to for example:
http://area11sova.org/gallery/albums.php
So you should be able to place the reset admin file to http://area11sova.org/public_html

Don't know if you use a FTP client or the cpanel with your host.

Dave
PS: moving to G1 forums.
