Upgrade to 2.3 from 2.2.5 not working

Hi,

I'm currently running Gallery 2.2.5 on a CentOS 5 Linux box.
I wanted to upgrade to 2.3 now.

But this doesn't work at all. Referring to http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Download#Upgrades I downloaded http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gallery/gallery-2.3-full.tar.gz.

My Gallery installation is not using the default path "gallery2", so I extracted the above file temporarily: "tar xzpvf /gallery-2.3-full.tar.gz" and copied the files to my location: "cp -a . ../album".

Then I pointed my browser to my default location: "https://www.myserver.com/album" but it does not point me to the upgrade site instead I see my default Gallery site with no options to upgrade.

So what I'm doing wrong?
