installation bug (cropped file names)?

upon first use after install of 1.3.1, gallery complained that it couldn't find "inline_albumthumb.footer.default" and "inline_albumthumb.header.default" and a few others similarly named. I looked around and found "inline_albumthumb.footer.defaul" and "inline_albumthumb.header.defaul" missing the "t". I simply added the "t" to the end of the file names and everything seemed to work. Was it a fluke, or is this a systimatic cropping of file names?

Turns out this is a bug in Mac OS X's tar command. FAQ C.18.

the just released Stuffit Expander version 7 fixes this problem. You might want to update your faw with this info. It could be a frustrating bug for a newbie.
