automatic add pictures

Hi,

I just installed gallery2 to my webserver. It really works fine.

What I want to do is automatic update pictures to gallery.

- I have raid5 setup on this server what holds my picture collection (separate from gallery2). Collection is automatically updated when I take pictures and dock my camera to my workstation.

- I started to use gallery2 to publish pictures to web, and also to make possible to my friends upload and watch pictures.

I have imported my collection to gallery2 using add items -> Local server and using symbolic links.

But is there a way to do this automatically for example as cron job?

It is difficult to do it by hand, as I must to browse to right location with web interface and i must also know where new pictures are stored.
If I just choose root path of picture collection and click add files, gallery2 creates duplicate albums for already added files and folders, so I can't use it.

Unfortunately I could not find working solution for these.

Maybe I just should learn php programming..
