As pictures are uploading, an option to cancle the upload would be great!

And it's implemented in GR 1.2-b2.

Would it be possible to implement an option (or the possibility) to add new photos even during upload? Would be cool and very handy from time to time....

What would this allow that Cancel doesn't already allow?

If the cancel function has a resume function too, it would be about the same (though less comfortable). But "Cancel" sounds more like "not uploading" to me; the other thing would be "pause" in my opinion..

My idea would allow to continue uploading pictures while adding new ones (for example forgotten...) It should safe time and easen managing the gallery because you can add more pictures without having to wait for the actual Upload to have finished.

Convinced? ;-)

thx for listening

When you cancel an upload, you can continue it later by clicking the "Upload pictures" button again.

The problem with doing a modeless upload and allowing the user to change things around during the upload is that it introduces many possibilities of breaking things, for example if the user removes a picture as it's being uploaded, or changes the order, or changes a caption, etc.

And the benefit of being able to change the list of pictures to be uploaded is dubious. In a future version, I might allow making changes to other albums, but probably not to the currently uploading album.

In the meantime you can acheive the same thing by opening another GR instance (but be extremely careful not to upload to the same album from multiple sessions, Gallery doesn't handle locking very well, and you can end up messing your album up).

well, thought it would be about messing up why you lock the list;-) Thanks for such a helpful answer and: I'll have a look at the GR 1.2-b2 version asap!
