change "video" image per drop down menu

Hello,
when you upload a video, Gallery displays a default video image. I would like to replace this image by a customizable thumbnail. E.g. by adding a new menu item in the drop down menu, sth like "change video thumbmail"; then selecting a photo from the gallery or possibility to upload a photo and then Gallery would automatically create a thumbnail. Any chance to implement this in future versions? :D

The current plan is in version 1.4.1 we will use a tool calle ffmpeg (I think) that will allow you to extract frames from your movie to use as thumbnails.

This would be a great enhancement. I've got lot's
of small videos in my albums and usually have no clue
what they are of.

I've installed ffmpeg, but gallery doesn't seem to use it yet.

Is this in 1.4.2 and how does one enable it?
