thanks for responding, but are you involved in the development?
I think that they were going to make G3 compatible with vbulletin.
Any of the developers can give feedback?

We have designed G3 so that we can integrate it with other apps, but we have not started working on specific integrations yet. If somebody is interested in starting now, we'll help you write the code. Otherwise, we'll probably get to it after we have Gallery3 working standalone the way we want it to.

is there an integration API available? I've already gotten requests for phpnuke and phpbb2 and phpbb3 integrations...

I don't think that anybody has done the primary research on this yet. I know that we'll have to driver-ify the user module so that we can support other backends, but that shouldn't be too hard to hack. On the visual integration side, I'm not entirely sure what we need to do. Want to take a crack and making it work any way you can and we can work together to refine it?
