Jesse Mullan is kindly providing us with unofficial automated builds of Gallery Remote. These builds are created automatically when the version number is updated, and I update the beta number every time a meaningful bug fix or feature is introduced. They are very small (about 300kb) compared to full installs.

http://jpmullan.com/galleryupdates/

To install, just expand the archive over your current Gallery Remote 1.0 preview installation and run the usual way. This just replaces the existing classes in your Gallery Remote installation: you need to have installed Gallery Remote 1.0 preview release for this to work.

Right now, 1.0b5 is available (1.0 preview was 1.0b4), which should fix the problems with the URL combo box which caused the invalid logins.

Can you upgrade to b6 (will be up late tonight, PST), and test with that?

If that still fails, could you create an account for me on your gallery and I'll debug it. Email me the parameters to

.

Thanks

Ok,

I tried that and still no go. This time the program just acts like it is searching forever.

I have been having network issues with my firewall (netgear bastards). Is there a Port I need to be forwarding for this to work?

If not I will pm you with my user account I setup for you.

No, no special port needs to be forwarded, we just use HTTP POST.

I'm having the exact same problem. I am wondering if I am overwriting the files properly. The updates are just a bunch of zipped files and I just unzipped them to my C:program filesGallery Remote folder, just as is. Is that correct?

Thank you, Marie Alline

is gallery remote already updated with the latest build from the applets? i can work fine with the applets now, but gallery remote only shows me the "everybody can add photos" albums (not following the security model)

The applets and GR are built from the same code, simultaneously. Can you PM me an account on the Gallery that is causing the problem and/or attach a log of connecting to the Gallery with GR?
