That is piclensLite, users with the browser plugin see it fullscreen.
Lite fills the parent div minus some padding which we don't control.

Joomla has a full integration package, or you could also integrate with my easy form.

Thank you for the leads. As evil as iframes are, i'm one feature away from it being the perfect solution. In the past I've used the g2bridge and it was awesome, but it's broken for the latest version of joomla which I'm using. A quick test of the easy forum seems like it will be not be so easy, at least for me. Is there nowhere in the gallery2 slideshow code I can go to make that slideshow display at 200 percent of it's container, automatically go to fullscreen, or go to a separate tab.

I'm in the same boat as you sgt_goomba2
None of the slidehow plugins will work correctly from within my iframe on my joomla site. I have another complication - my iframe uses a auto-height script and when the standard slideshow opens, the iframe collapses... As explained in my other threads to supsidr, I am currently happy with my iframe setup (http://www.joretha.com/index.php/portfolio/view-all-wedding-and-engagement-portfolio-galleries.html) but would like to ad some slideshow functionality.
Please let me know if you've got something working for you.
regards
