Does anyone have an example of a Gallery 3 gallery that they have installed which I could have a look at? Thanks, Ian |

I see you already have it installed. Right now almost everyone's G3 install looks the same. There are a few who have started to customize, but not many.

Very nice effort. Love it. Keep it up and if you need some help, I will gladly try. I am not very technical though. But testing could an area or documentation or CSS tweaks etc.

Thanks a lot...I am trying to get it uptodate along with every experimental version...
I really like the way it renders though there are things I am not proud of:
- First of all, I had to add two lines in modules/gallery/controllers/albums.php to set the lightbox display:
$template->set_global("children_all", $album->viewable()->children());
$template->set_global("children_offset", $offset);
and I also remove the home link in helpers/gallery.php.
I could get rid of the first one, but to avoid the second I would have to copy like 10 lines of code into the theme...there is probably an elegant solution but it is out of my ability!
- I still want to add some info in the lightbox display especially exif datas, and maybe a score module.
- I customized the tagsmap module, but I was not able to add into the module the globe in the header which links to the map. So I out it in the theme (don't burn me!)
I am really enjoying customization, I would like to share if someone's interested, but I am sad I was not able to do it properly....it would have been a small return, for the great job that was made for this new gallery!

Someone is working on a lightbox module for G3:

That's one way to get this done without modifying core code.
But I'll show the developers this thread to see if 1) there's another way to do it or 2) if there might be a change that could be made in the core code to allow for a theme to do this.

Is there an easier/better way to edit the header?
It's too much work and too complicate to put links in the header that coincide with the rest of your site.
ie. a lot of peoples' sites have a menu bar at the top of their site: home gallery services blog contact about
i know themes are a work in progress but i sure hope there will be a better way then digging through to find the proper files/helper files or whatever in order to customize the header.

Please start a new thread in the forums and I (or someone else) can help you better. It's too hard to follow everything going on in this thread.
But first, make sure you're using the latest experimental code (WARNING:, not everything seems functional at the moment):
