link to search results (static)

Is there a way to create a link to my gallery_v1.5.4 that will open gallery with the search results; e.g. search for "vacation". I found this posting http://gallery.menalto.com/node/39064 but it looks like it's for G2, and I can't figure out how to use if for my version of Gallery.

Also, if there are any parameters; e.g. [formName], [useDefaultSettings], [searchCriteria] (like as mentioned in the other posting), could you define what they're used for?
