Importing albums, images and tags into G3

Could someone please advice if it would be possible to import images into G3 by using wget from shell, that is uploading images, addig tags and creating albums. With a few commands using wget, importing images could be programmed from shell. I have over 20k images with description and a few hundred albums. Doing a manual import of these is not an option. I did try to look into the G3 REST API to explore if something there could be used, but it doesn't seem to ready for use at this point in time. Ozeki at simnet.is |

The API is currently being worked on. Right now there is no command line import support AFAIK.
There is the Server Add module: http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Modules:serveradd
Some of those screenshots are out of date, but you should get the gist.
