I basically need a photo server for people that I work with to be able to access tagged or categorized photos that we take on a daily basis. These folders of photos could be up to 4 GB. External viewing won't be necessary. Is there another product that I should be looking at or is this the best fit? |

Gallery should work fine for that. However, if you're adding 4GB of photos daily, you are going to need some pretty dang beefy hardware pretty quickly.
Depending on what you want to do, I'd also take a look at G3. It's got less overhead than G2. It's already faster than G2 when compared to "out of the box" configurations. And when tweaked more for performance will be much faster than G2.
