I have what I call a "love-hate relationship" with comments. I upload a large volume of photos to my gallery, mostly of people in costumes. Costumes that are identified as their correct characters tend to bring in the most hits (one of my most popular photos is of a character that's very obscure, just because it pops up when people google her). Because I can't know every single character, I rely on comments to identify characters.
Unfortunately, some dorks like to abuse comments and love nothing more than to post "lol ur ugly", and I'd rather not see people regret having their photo posted on my site because of these jerks. I was wondering if there was some way to allow people to post comments, but keep the comment hidden to all but administrators? I considered comment moderation, but unfortunately, I have a large bulk of old comments that migrated over with Gallery1 that I'd like to keep hidden.
Any suggestions on how best to achieve this?
Once again to sum up in cliff's notes form... I want users to be able to make comments, but have comments be visible only to the admin.

Click on Edit Permissions and remove the View Comments permission

Well, I've been looking at that, but therein lies the problem... I don't see that permission listed to remove. It says "Everybody" has "[rating] All Access", "[core] View All Versions", and "[ecard] Send a Card", but it says nothing about comments.

Can you either post or PM (click write to author) a link to your site?
