localization on debian

HI,
i can't reconfigure the local for use gallery2.3 in multilingue! (french/english
I was happy to try gallery2 in localhost but now on debian, that real adventure for my knowledge!
i got some link but i'm lost around gettext, .mo, .po, ISO, UTF8!

gallery2.3 on debian
Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) DAV/2 SVN/1.5.1 PHP/5.2.6-1+lenny3 with Suhosin-Patch mod_ruby/1.2.6 Ruby
when i ask in ssh 'locale -a' answer is 'C/POSIX'

i need easy way or links to do that!

hello
I need to configure imagemagick 1.1.6 on my G2
so i tryed to install imagemagick-6.5.9-3 and gcc on my centos5 server
but i get some trouble with php! (Nobody around my, correctly use ssh)

1_ So before to lost more time in bad way, i want to be sure that the good imagemagick version?(imagemagick-6.5.9)

G2 is so good, thank's by advance

centos5/Apache/2.2.3 (Red Hat) Server

Sorry don't/won't do Centos and I don't know Red Hat. On Debian or Ubuntu:

apt-get install imagemagick

done

:)

It's something similar on RH/Centos, but I don't know, rpm?
