I've tried to scour the documentation and poke around in the software itself to answer this question, but haven't been able to figure it out. I'm looking to set up a site where anyone can create an account and add pictures and I was wondering if Gallery 2 would be able to do this. Like flikr, except it would be for a specific topic. A lot of the documentation and examples I've seen seem based around either a single photographer or a small group that can be closely managed. Basically I want to know if I just need to find someone who better understands this stuff to take a look at my installation, or if I'm trying to make the software do something it wasn't meant to do. Also, If anyone has an example of a site that is set up in this manner I would love to take a look at it. Thanks.

There are huge installs of Gallery with millions of users and photos, but the more users and permissions you have the slower G2 is going to get without really heavy hardware.
