How to 1). delete and/or edit photos. 2). Can I add text at the beginning of my Gallery site

I am presently trying to update and organize my site. There are some file name I need to change to simplify and change to be more descriptive. Presently many of my photos have the original technical file name listed. If necessary I will delete the photos and re upload with the appropriate file names and description. However I can not find a way to delete.
I would like to add some text at the beginning of my site to explain a few things about my photography and to include my email address.
I feel sure both these questions are answered on your site but i cannot to seem to located them. Sorry to take up your valuable time. Maybe you could just direct me to those topics.
At present I am using the Gallery preset for Lightroom 2.6.
I am very computer illiterate. I do have a technical background but I used a slide rule even during completion of my masters and then used FORTRAN. My son set up the site for me but is to busy to help further since he is finishing his PhD in Computer since and doing research.
I am very grateful for development of your software. I doubt I would have a website if it was not for your organization. I will continue to do my little bit to support your efforts.

@delete: Depending on the theme there is a link on the sidebar for each album. Delete items. You will be persented with items you want to delete.

@changing title: Edit item general tab. or there is a 'edit captions' link as well.

@adding text: Edit the root album. You can add descriptions and summaries for any item and the root album is no exception.

Ask specific questions if you get stuck. A url helps as well.

My URL for my website is: http://www.johnbutlerphotography.com/main.php I hope that is what you want. AS I said...not very computer savvy.
Right now the only access I have to my Gallery is through the Gallery Lightroom preset. There are no sidebars in that. There must be a page (form) or two to have set all this up but I am not sure how to access it. If that is what I am looking your directions seem pretty clear cut from there.
I have looked through my profile and account info and can't see a way in. I guess if I knew what I was doing and set all this up myself I would know where to look.
Man! Thanks for your quick response. This is driving me crazy and now that I am having some success with my photography in some galleries this has become really important.

1st: I don't know what "Gallery Lightroom preset" is.
2nd: The theme you are using is not user friendly and does not have many options like most other themes, So you should switch themes when doing admin work.
3rd?: YOu need to be able to login via gallery not Lightroom or whatever it is.
