As for developing a module, I don't know how easy or hard it is. I'd probably start by looking at the existing printing modules. You'd also need to contact the print shop you'd want to use and find out if they have something you can tie into.

There's no difficulty in developing a module; the problem is there's no printing service based in the UK with an API. I contacted Photobox with a view to writing the module myself but they weren't interested, and I even posted a note on this forum to see if it was worth starting such a printing service myself as a business, but I had no response.
Now I recall I also tried hard to get the Gallery development team in contact with the Photobox commercial people, but both sides took the "we'll wait for the other guys to contact us to prove they're interested" approach so nothing ever happened.
