Hello,
I downloaded x-treme theme but I can't edit it. When i change the settings and save them, the settings are more the same. In addition, the inscription does not show the success of the record. Other plugins work fine. Plz help!

I'm having similar (maybe exactly the same) problems...

If I go to edit theme settings, and perform any changes - even appying a colourpack (I've enabled the module and added the packs to its folder), as soon as I save them and the page refreshes, all changes are gone.

The Matrix theme and some other plug-in themes don't exhibit this behaviour. I've disabled/uninstalled/deleted and re-downloaded X_treme and the problem persists. As far as I can see permissions on the /themes/x_treme are the same as for other themes.

I'd be eternally grateful if someone could suggest how to resolve this issue!

Many thanks and best regards,

Rob.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply - I don't know if that will work for the OP or not, but clearing the cache hasn't helped in my case :( I double-checked filesystem permissions while I was in there, and everything seemed OK.

Could you suggest any other possibilities?

Many thanks again,

Rob.

Don't use the x_treme theme :)

Have you tried changing the settings under Site Admin > Themes?

Heh! I kinda wish I had the knowledge to make my own from scratch, but I think I'm a long way from that - x_treme looked like a pretty configurable/adaptable option which seemed like a good (/realistic) alternative to building from the ground up. I'm open to suggestion though!...

That was actually the first place I tried, although applying changes through 'edit Album' suffers the same problem.

Thanks and regards,

Rob.

No clue then, especially if it works properly with other themes.

Make sure you're using the latest version of G2, we're at 2.3 now.

I don't know what all you're looking for, but maybe the Carbon theme will cut it for you. You may need to manually edit some template files depending on what you want/need, but it's general look is similar to that of x_treme.

Yep, running 2.3 here. I'm tempted to uninstall and reinstall but I'm not sure it's worth potentially disturbing the database.

It's funny you mention carbon actually... That (along with Matrix) is the reason I know saving settings is otherwise working. Maybe I'll look at getting my hands dirty trying to fiddle with that one a little...

Thanks for your help all the same,

Rob.

Same problem: changes made and (supposedly) saved in admin>themes don't 'stick'.
Has anyone got this theme working?
Is there no support thread? I could use some help, I'm new to Gallery, and am sitting stuck at the bottom of an awful steep learning curve...

Thanks in advance,

Sean

str9969, I don't know why you say "Is there no support thread?" There are 10,000s of support threads on these forums.

Let's start with this:
FAQ: What information is required when I ask for help in the forums?

X-Treme theme is not fully compatible with Gallery 2.3.x out of the box but the theme is no longer supported by the developer.

Your choices are:
1. Use a theme that works with 2.3.x
2. Figure out how to make x-treme theme work with 2.3.x and post your notes in the codex for others.

hi, nivekiam; thanks for your help and support.
I note your comment regarding 10,000s of support threads, and would like to register my doubt that many of them refer directly to the subject of my question. I thought it might be evident that I was looking for a thread dedicated solely to support for the theme in question; a simple 'no' would have done. By your signature, I gather you are one of the developers; your treatment of a newbie to your software leaves a lot to be desired. Your comment regarding the lamentable lack of detail as to my install, however, is taken on board, and I will endeavour to gather the monumental amount of data you seem to require, before considering any question I may have.

hi, Dayo, thanks very much; that kind of makes sense now. I'll go with another theme, I reckon....
