I have a bit of a bonehead question, as I'm not familiar at all with coding outside of HTML. I was hoping to install Gallery 2, but it doesn't seem to want to work on my server, and so now I'm uninstalling. I installed the cleanup.php file linked to on the downloads page, but I'm doing something wrong, because I can't delete the gallery2 folder or any of the files inside. Can anyone offer any insights?

Did you access the cleanup.php page? www.example.com/gallery2/cleanup.php or www.example.com/cleanup.php where example.com is your website.

Yes. Perhaps it's that I'm not entering the path right when it asks... I'm entering http://www.example.com/gallery2 .

Ah, right. You need to enter a file system path, like /home/UserName/public_html/gallery2 or something like that.

You'll have to forgive me, as I'm literally clueless about stuff like this.

Am I literally entering /home/UserName/public_html/gallery2
Or, am I replacing those variables with parts of my URL, or something else?

It's the file system path, like c:\documents and settings\UserName\desktop (on Windows). I doubt it would be exactly like what I put above, you'll need to contact your host's support to find out what your path would be.

However, it may be easier to just have them change the permissions on Gallery so you can delete it.
