Keep location of albums and pictures

Hi,

I'd like to upgrade from my current version of Gallery 1.5 to a current release of Gallery 2. However, I have been using my gallery for many years now and a lot of references exist to this gallery. Unfortunately, not all references have been built up in a 'correct' way, i.e:

http://www.mydomain.ext/fotos/albumname2009/IMG_0055 is a url to a specific photo, displayed in gallery.
The 'wrong' usage is linking to:
http://www.mydomain.ext/fotos/albumname2009/IMG_0055.jpg or
http://www.mydomain.ext/fotos/albumname2009/IMG_0055.sized.jpg

These references have been used frequently, so it is a must that after upgrading the location of the actual images still exists.

Can anybody tell me if it is possible to keep the locations of albums and pictures the same during an upgrade from Gallery 1.5 to 2.x?

I don't know if it's useful info, but the admin page tells me that mod_rewrite is enabled. It is a shared webserver and I don't have a command prompt thing available.

Thanks!
Mark

Hi nivekiam,

Unfortunately this FAQ doesn't answer my specific question... it's clear to me that I can upgrade, but will the location of the actual jpg's be the same after upgrading? That's what I need to know!

The physical location on the disk will change, but the URLs can remain unchanged
