My entire Gallery has 3885 photos, after going through and updating each that didn't have a functioning thumbnail, i noticed quite a few also didn't have a working resized image -- in order to fix this "automatically" rather than one by one trying to update them - i changed the resize image from 600px to 500px.

Now ive got the yellow bar uptop that indicates all 3885 images are outdated and telling me to update them, which i've attempted at least 5 times up to this point, all of which have failed.

#1 problem is that the "Total" number of images on the dialog box is ALSO increasing at the same time as the "Updated" number increasing. My current total is 3908 updated and 7798 total images, which is clearly incorrect given that there are only 3885 images.

i'm continuing to let it run just to see if the thing EVER finishes, but losing hope in the script.

i've even resorted to making the 500px wide images and uploading them to the /var/resizes folder myself, but then my computer decided mid-upload to stop reading my external drive last night. so, i am now back to the maintenance script.

any thoughts?

Also worth noting: the "total" number is always 3881 more than the "updated" number -- and as of 12:38pm PST, the script stalled at 3908 of 7789 total.

Not that this might fix your issue, please upgrade to a latest experimental version.

I went to the upgrader (per instructions at http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery3:Upgrading :: http://swanstromfamilyphotos.com/index.php/upgrader) which indicates that I am up to date.

Is there a different method that I should be using?

Well, obviously not the most ideal way of fixing the problem - I went the manual route because it just simply wasn't working. Apparently quite a few of the full sized images (in /var/albums) were also missing somehow, but the thumbnails were all there and same goes for resizes. I just manually uploaded the originals and resizes myself and all seems to be working other than the fact that I have the obnoxious yellow bar now telling me that all my images are out of date.

Now my issue is with the displaytags module, so I'll go over there to figure out the problem. ;)
