Problems uploading after migrating to new server.

Hi, I recently migrated my gallery2 site to a new server. The site appears to be running fine but I'm unable to upload properly. I tried uploading through the website itself and it seems to stall on "Estimated time remaining: 0:00" and never completes. If I look at the gallery i was uploading to it displays a broken thumbnail that if i try to click, goes to a blank page. The first time I tried this I was able to establish that 'Size Limit' and 'Upload Applet' were not installed and I've rectified that (though not sure why they weren't there) Interestingly I also tried to upload using pix2gallery2 and it uploaded 1 image and failed on the remaining 29. I tried again and one more image went up fine but still had 28 fails. I verified my files using the gallery upgrade and i do get a warning for "exec() allowed". Apparently it's disabled but I do have the GD toolkit enabled. I've searched the forums and not had any luck, any insight would be greatly appreciated...
