webdav security

	I've got my gallery up and running beautifully, but when I use webdav it scares me. I mount the volume and it never asks for username and password. What am I missing? Gallery version = 2.3.1 core 1.3.0.1 API = Core 7.54, Module 3.9, Theme 2.6, Embed 1.5 PHP version = 5.2.6 apache2handler Webserver = Apache/2.2

	it's been a while since I used that stuff, but mounting webdav basically just requires view permissions. so if your albums are public, it's no surprise that there's no authentication step. once you try to upload / move / delete / edit things via webdav, you'll hit an authentication dialog.
