How to keep image size selection when navigating in an album

I've set up my albums with three resize options (640, 1024, and 1600). When viewing an image, I can select the view size from a drop-down list in the upper right hand corner as expected. But when I click "next" to see the next picture in the album, it is shown in the default 640 resolution again. How can I browse through an album and show each picture in one of the larger resolutions? This feels like a newbie question, and I am a newbie when it comes to Gallery2. But I haven't been able to find the answer in the forums or the HOWTO, so I'm trying with a thread of my own.
