I've been working on a couple new modules for the Delaware Geological Society's photo repository, and while what I've built isn't quite ready for plugging into any old Gallery setup, I thought I'd show them off anyway and see what people have to say about them.
The first, and more significant one, is the Dynamic Search module. It's basically a hacked up version of the Dynamic Albums module, turned into a far more powerful search tool than the default search module. In addition to searching the title, keywords, description, and summary fields, it can search by owner, date uploaded, and it hooks into the Google Maps module to search by location. It can also search on any combination of the above. Aside from translation functionality (which I'm sure I broke, but I have no idea how badly), the biggest thing that I figure I should change is disabling the geographical search if the Maps module isn't installed - I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it wouldn't do too well.
The second module is just a collection of admin tasks. There's one to replace underscores in picture titles with spaces, one to delete all the thumbs.db files, and a third to write data back to the EXIF data of JPEGs. There's not a whole lot to it, but there doesn't really need to be.
I'd be a bit surprised if I haven't missed any little things here and there that would need to be fixed before these modules are ready for general use, but since my Gallery experience consists entirely of making these two modules, I'm not sure what I should be looking for. (It's been a learning experience.)
