There's an included module in
edit album > "Password Protection"
I thought this would prompt for one simple password, but it seems to require both a username and password. I was hoping I could change this a viewer had to be:
1. logged in OR
2. know one password, like an Everybody password or something.

Is this possible?

Gallery version (not just "2"): 2.3 core 1.3.0
PHP version (e.g. 5.1.6): 5.1.1
PHPInfo Link (see FAQ): http://kerlee.com/phpinfo.php
Webserver (e.g. Apache 1.3.33): apache 2.0.53
Database (e.g. MySql 5.0.32): mysql 4.1.10a, lock.system=database
Activated toolkits (e.g. NetPbm, GD): ArchiveUpload, Exif, Thumbnail, ImageMagick, Getid3, jpegtran, LinkItemToolkit, SquareThumb
Operating system (e.g. Linux): linux
Browser (e.g. Firefox 2.0): chrome 5.0.342.9

Not when I try. It works with a single password and no username.

Figured this one out too:
when I log into the gallery, and send a link to a single item (a picture) to someone, they will click on that link are are prompted for BOTH a username and a password. No combination of the guest password that I setup work.

When someone goes to the gallery's home directory, and begins clicking to get somewhere, they are given the prompt for a SINGLE password to enter the gallery. "This gallery is password protected, please enter the password to continue."

So the stupid thing here is I can't email someone a link to a single item. They have to be given a link to the gallery, so they'll be presented with the proper single password page, then find the picture I'm talking about in there.

Why not try the 'hidden' item module then?

Looking at the password module (add-on for no-username password access) I think that's a software defect. If I get a chance I'll investigate.
