Simplified Checkout Plugins

I've been doing an update of our image library (www.faber-castell-library.com) and in the process updated many of our plug-ins, including the Checkout plug-in.

The latest Checkout has a full page of info to fill in before going through to the download button where previously the download button was on the first page and could be downloaded immediately. I can't just reload a back-up as we've modified and uploaded a lot of new images and they will be lost and need to be redone.

I have sales reps who use this and the less clicks and info they need to enter the greater the chance they'll use the database.

Here's the questions.

1. Can you backward install Plug-ins? Can I get the old v1 plugin and re-install it?
2. If not can I customise and simplify the checkout?

Any help appreciated
Jason

That's an extremely old version of Gallery and you'll likely not get much support without upgrading to 2.3.1

Why you're starting out a new gallery with that old version I have no idea.

It's an existing gallery and I'm just updating it.

With this issue with the checkout plug-in I was holding off updating the Gallery version

You can use any version of checkout you like, it's possible to download them from the sourceforge svn server (how is left as an exercise to the reader) however I can't and won't provide any help for anything but the latest version as there are loads of bug-fixes rolled in along the way.

As Nivekiam points out you won't get much help on 2.2.1 now, either.

You can't downgrade plugins - but you can uninstall/reinstall.

Checkout is quite easy to customise.

ps. personal grammar bugbear: "fewer clicks" not "less clicks".

I've just looked at your website- you are aware you're operating the "cart" module and not "checkout" at all, aren't you?

I was using the checkout but after trawling through all the other posts about the checkout, it became clear that the checkout was not able to be modified easily and was probably more complex than we require. I did want to be able to track who was downloading what images, which checkout did well, but it wasn't that necessary.

I've uninstalled Checkout and installed the basic Cart module because it will do the job until I can work something else out.

Yes, I was going to suggest that "cart" and "zipcart" might be more suitable for you.
