removing breadcrumbs entirely

What I would like is is if someone goes to mysite.com/gallery/v/trailer there are no breadcrumbs leading anywhere outside of the trailer album.

I tried the wiki article about creating the modules/core/templates/blocks/local/BreadCrumb.tpl file but that does not seem to work.

It should have. Did you clear the cache?
What wiki article are you working from?

i just checked again and it is working. how do i stop gallery showing files from other albums in the left hand side?

Remove the 'blocks' that have the albums. I suspect you have the album select block perhaps added to the sidebar.
Hard to tell without a URL?

ok, got that. what do i edit to remove the link to the main page in the gallery logo?
