Hello everyone, The URL is http://www.buxtonart.com/gallery/ I am using Gallery 2.3.1 and I have just about all modules turned off. Here is what I would like to do: 1) Get rid of the sidebar completely (for guests anyway) 2) Move the items from the sidebar to somewhere in the main body in a horizontal layout. (Mainly the search). 3) Set the default image size to 700 x 700 (instead of 640 tx 640) 4) Make it so that when you click on the image instead of reloading the page with the larger (original) size, it would instead popup the java window to view the image at fullsize. Any help in these issues would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you, |

1) Is pretty easy, you can embed Gallery into your design easily:
http://www.flashyourweb.com/staticpages/index.php?page=gallery2_embed-o-rator
Turning off the sidebar is an option there.
2) More difficult. Best guidance I can give you without me spending a lot of my time on this is to point you to the Floatrix theme and start by searching theme.inc for * Split item links into user and admin actions, there you'll see how that theme's author split some of those links out from the sidebar for use in other places. Then look at the templates/album.tpl file and search for userLinks to see how that's put to use (it's in photo.tpl too)
3) Click on Edit Album > Album (tab) and change the size as you need
4) Take a look at incorporating Lightbox: http://codex.gallery2.org/Special:Search?search=lightbox
I don't know if those tutorials are out of date, some (a lot) of people don't seem to either be able to follow them or perhaps it's Gallery's code that confuses people, I'm not sure. The one and only time I've tried to implement Lightbox (before any tutorials) I was able to in about 15 minutes following the information on this page: http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/ Of course I'm probably a bit more familiar with digging around in the templates for Gallery than most users.

I'm glad I am not the only one who didn't understand.
