Some time ago, I migrated all my website photos to Gallery 2, and have been very pleased with how it works. My gallery is installed in a directory on my website (/gallery/) and isn't the main page (I have my blog as my main page). One of the things I did with my previous photo album was to have a random thumbnail displayed on the front page. The image linked to where the image was in the album, and I had a "more like this" link that led to the sub-album index for the pics in that set. I'm trying to duplicate this feature in Gallery 2, but the database looks pretty complicated. I figured I'd just write my own SQL statement like I did with my old photo album, but I can't figure out how to come up with the path to the thumbnail or the full-sized pic. Can anyone give me a hand? The existing site is here: http://cydewaze.org/ Thanks! |

try mediaBlock instead.

I'll have to take a closer look at that. For now, I figured out how to do a simple version with imageblock, but I can't get it to show the name of the gallery that's being shown. Maybe once I figure out how to get mediaBlock working, I can get it to do what I want.
Thanks!
