Add Photos should keep image size low

Since a multi -user environment cannot assume the user always resizes its photos, its definitly a must to have some resizing options on the original fotos.
Sadly couldn't find it. Didnt figure out to do it myself also after hours into the graphics.php code ;)

If you drastically need this feature, use G2 for now. A "size limit" module hasn't been written for G3 yet, however, G2 has such a plugin that works quite well.
