Hi,

I'm using the latest version of Gallery 2, but cannot get a satisfactory result with video.

I'm using ffmpeg to compress and format video from my iPhone.

I've tried various containers and codecs including: swf, mp4, flv, wmv, h264

Nothing is satisfactory.

This is what I want:
1. A thumnbnail.
2. Video streams in the browser instead of downloads the whole file before starting.
3. Displays in IE and Firefox.
4. Reasonable file size. I'm getting 75% - 90% compression with different codecs. h264 is the best, but doesn't work with the other requirements.

To me that sounds like what most people want. Right?

I've spent hours on this, researched as much as I can, and I'm getting no where.

Does anyone know where there's a simple HOW TO to achieve these reasonable goals?

tia,
RR

Flv/mp4 is the best option even modern quicktime .mov are h.264/aac which qualigies to play in flash.

My flashvideo module update adds mp4 support.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I read on your page that it's standard for Gallery 3.

So, should I just upgrade to Gallery 3?

regards,
RR
