Hi,

I'd like to know if it is possible to add the same photo to more than one category / album without having to upload it multiple times.
From looking around in the forum, it seems that this is not an integral part of Gallery 3 but it might be possible to do using modules. I've searched the module repository but did not find anything similar to what I'm looking for.
Anyone knows if there is a way to do this that I'm not aware of, or if only through modules, if anyone is working on this?
Unfortunately my knowledge of php is too limited to even attempt such a development myself, but I'd be more than willing to help test it.

Thanks for any help.

No, currently not possible. Someone would have to write that functionality.

No, I don't know if anyone is working on it. I don't think they are.

Closest right now is tagging photos.

I'd be very interested in a feature of that kind. My problem is mainly that, apart from the nuisance of uploading twice, if the images have tags and searchable titles and descriptions, then pulling a tag or doing a text search can result in the same image coming up multiple times in the output.
We can get over the tag problem by only applying the tag to one instance of the image.
Not so simple with the titles and descriptions. It appears to be possible to manually edit the 'items' table in the database (tricky, anyway), so that two or more items point to the same image. However, although that does save storing the same image twice, it doesn't get over my problem, because the titles and descriptions are part of the 'items' entries, so they still get duplicated and a search will still therefore pull up the same image twice. Seems to me that could only be fixed by a redesign of the database.
