Hi, I have an admin account for a gallery2 installation but don't have access to the ftp server.

Is it possible to download all of the images from the gallery onto my hard drive to take a backup for myself?

The main web admin has now left the company, taking all details of how to log onto the server with him, so I'm really stuck. Any help would be much appreciated.

First just ask him if he'll turn that info over.

Second, if it's a company owned site, you should be able to contact the hosting company and get access. What's going to happen when the bill isn't paid? What about domain name renewal?

If that fails, have the company's lawyer contact the "admin" who left and threaten him with legal action if he doesn't turn over any and all information as it's not his and he has effectively stolen company property.

(of course I'm only reading your side of the story....)

That's the first avenue I'd shoot for because depending on the size, I doubt you're going to be able to zip everything up, at least into 1 zip files.

But there is the zip cart plugin. Go to Site Admin > Plugins > Get More Plugins (tab) and try downloading the cart and zip cart plugins (can't recall the exact names off the top of my head). Then you can configure it to be able to download albums zipped up. Again, if they are too large the zip file probably won't be created. If you are not able to download modules that way, then you're going to need FTP/SFTP access or web control panel access, period. Well, I guess there is HTTrack (search google) and you can download the site slowly that way.....

Oh also, if you can download plugins from Site Admin > Plugins > Get More Plugins, then you might be able to utilize Gallery Remote (though it might really only be for uploading) or the WebDav plugins. Though I'm not sure about either one of those and I've never used the WebDav plugin.
