Automatic update of Album when new photos ftp uploaded to server

Hello experts

I have looked through the forums and couldn't find an answer so appreciate any help.

I am uploading photos from a webcam (security) to a folder on my server. I can create an album which points at this folder and manually add photos (takes some time). I was wondering if there was a way to automatically schedule this to occur on a daily basis, perhaps a script or batch job.

Any pointers or ideas would be appreciated.

I am using gallery 2 with the local server module.

Yes it is possible.
Just write the script to do this and schedule a cron job to run the script at whatever interval you want.
