I had Gallery 2.2.3 running, and server crashed, but I have the data from the disks.

I now have a new install, on a different platform.
My plan was to install Gallery 3 and import my data, but I cannot do that as gallery 2 is not running.

Do I need to install Gallery 2.2.3 to get gallery running, and then import? If so where can I down load it?

I only have the directory structure with the photos, (the directory where the URL points)
a copy of the data base, a backup of the database, and the old directory that had login.txt.

But gallery2 is not running.

I tired to install 2.2.6 but I get an error that

"Gallery tables already exist in the database and there is a versions.dat file in the Gallery storage directory. But the version of the installed Gallery database tables does not match the version of the installed data in the Gallery storage directory. Select a clean install to erase all data in the database and in the storage directory and to advance to the next step. "

I found this thread:

http://galleryproject.org/node/88718

Do I need 2.2.3? If so an I have a pointer to where I can find it. The download page referenced in the other page does not offer 2.2.3.

When I go to the release page: http://galleryproject.org/gallery_2.2.3_released and click on download, I get redirected to a page where the oldest version I can download is 2.2.6.

Any advice on how to get my gallery back up and running without recreating all the albums and upload all the photos?

Thanks,

__Jason

Hmm...

I found a mirror of gallery 2.2.3

http://www.filewatcher.com/m/gallery-2.2.3-full.tar.gz.11901089-0.html

Go that installed and got the same issue:

"Gallery tables already exist in this database! But there is no 'versions.dat' file in your G2 storage directory which we interpret as a broken state of G2. Either create a versions.dat file with the correct format if you think your G2 should still work or select a clean install, which will erase all data in the database and in the storage directory. "

looking at my photos dir I do see a versions.dat that has the following:

"1.2.0.5
2.2.3"

Now what should I try?

If you have a database and populated g2data then you would want to follow the directions more like moving from server to server.
FAQ: How can I move my Gallery installation from one server to another?

You can use the 2.2.6 archive and gallery will prompt you to run the upgrader after you have all files in place.

**note, you will need all active modules from your old install to be present or gallery will error out looking for them.

solved.

Thanks for your help. I followed those steps, and got gallery up and running but still had no images. I never bothered to check the originals. Turns out this is an imagemagick problem... and gallery was fine all along.

Thanks again.
