When I tried installing the color packs in the module folder I got this message:
Select different color palettes for themes
Incompatible module!
Core API Required: 6.4 (available: 7.3)
Module API Required: 2.0 (available: 3.0)
in the modules section in the site admin.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong to get the colorpacks to work.
Any help would be great!
Thanks.

pgilbert - Magnificent! I'm just now trying Gallery 2 and I must say your theme should be promoted to the default. I thought I loved some of the stock themes. Notably Matrix and Siriux but WOW you've taken things to a new level with this piece of work.
ichthyous
Have you tried two tools I have found:
the firefox browser and the web development tool that allows you to Make live edits to the CSS of a web page..
Once you have them both installed....
select edit css and under the 'information' dropdown check display ID & class details.
Edit your CSS and you will see the results. Once you have this the way you want, upload your edited css to the server.
If not try that first and post back a URL of what you want to change.
the theme works for the Site Admin portion, but when I go back to the Gallery itself, it is still using the old default theme. When I deactivate that theme, I get the following error:
Configuration Error: Missing Theme
Missing Theme
On all other albums do you have the default set or another theme?
URL?
- how do i make it so that everyone can see if there is a comment on an image or within an album?
- if im logged in as admin it shows me all pics/albums. If i log out and view as guest, it only shows about 90% of the pics/albums? Suggestions?
- When viewing photos within an album, how do i make it so that my guests can see which picture they are on within a series (i.e., 4 of 42 - both while using slideshow and moving to the next pic manually)?

PG, LFRANK, Mindless,
Great work on this wounderfull theme. I use the latest version and it was a breeze to work with and to configure. I have searched this entire PG forum for the answer and could not find it at all. I have seen in other forums people that have tried to make the full screen picture open in a seperate html page a kind of a simple fix to print the pictures. Also not using the cart. I dont have people/family memebers that are that computer savy. My question to you all is, I am not selling any of my photos but this is more of away for my family and friends to share photos and to be able to print them on the spot. Is there a way to add some kind of print option without having to go through any outside source but directly from my site.
Thank you all in advance!
Keep up the great work all!

layer9, hmm - not directly, but there is a discussion (http://gallery.menalto.com/node/37451) on a local print module for Gallery2 - I'll check it.

Lfrank,
I have seen that post and wouldnt mind trying to work with that but i wanted to see the demo on his site. Of course its not working and the post looks as if it died sometime back. If i could figure out how to make the pictures go full screen on a seperate html page im sure i could make it work. I personally think this would be a great feature/module at least for some of us not trying to make a profit of the gallery2. Thank you for looking in on this. I thought I read somewhere that Pedro was going to implament this on a future relase hopefully he still will unless you find a way first.
Thank you again for your time and effort!

I'm kinda new to the whole gallery thing and I downloaded PGtheme and followed the directions like you said. But I keep getting this error:

It doesnt happen until I try to set it as the default theme. (Gallery works great with the themes that came with it...it also did this when I tried the Carbon theme. ) I've run the "delete template cache". I've even gone as far as reinstalling gallery. Nothing works. I know I'm new and this is probably some stupid newbie mistake...but could you please help me?
I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

1)- how do i make it so that everyone can see if there is a comment on an image or within an album?
Most of the functions in PG theme you can access them if you goto your site admin screen then on the left hand side "Themes" select PG Theme at the top then you will see the administrative part of the entire gallery. One of the areas you can see is called ::: ACTIONS ::: here you can set differnt options to view the comments etc.
2)- if im logged in as admin it shows me all pics/albums. If i log out and view as guest, it only shows about 90% of the pics/albums? Suggestions? I dont think you have your main album and sub albums set up correctly post your site link so i can try to help you out.
3)- When viewing photos within an album, how do i make it so that my guests can see which picture they are on within a series (i.e., 4 of 42 - both while using slideshow and moving to the next pic manually)? I think it sounds like you are refering to bread crumbs this option is also availible in the "Themes" it just needs to be enabled.

When i used to use G1, a user could come to my site and see (by noticing a red asterisk below the album) that there were comments within that album. Cant find that feature to enable to save my life.

www.daryl.com pword is jack - under admin view i see Size: 437 items (21269 items total) and the most recent album is August 20th, 2006. When i log out (and view it like i assume the rest of the world is viewing it, i see Size: 433 items (20914 items total) with August 12th being the last album shown.

Maybe, but i am not talking about a link back to an album (i.e. Gallery > Daryl's Pics > August 20th, 2006)....i mean to be inside of an album (just use August 20th, 2006 as an example) and the user would click the first picture and it would say "1 of 42" below the picture and would increase as the user view the remaining pics in the album.

layer9,
've updated the localprint for Gallery 2.2 (you have to possibly adjust the module.inc to your version.
It adds the "Print to local printer" for the highest allowed version - but you need to have access to one of the resizes or it won't work (will have to add some checks). The command is available from the Cart too.
It opens the biggest resize in the browser window to execute the browser pront command...
Can you try the attached file?

Layer9, nope - that's what I've meant - because I'm running a 2.2_SVN, you have to edit module.inc and change the 7.10 to 7.3 and 3.2 to 3.0

Lutz,
OK didnt read the fine print LOL (sorry about that) ok i got it to work. Looks to be close to what i was looking for. The images since they are larger than 1024x768 the image will need to be downsized to 1024x768 to fit the print. I could see this to be an issue in print preview. It would also be nice to have a print icon under the actual photo. Any suggestions on how to acomplish these?
Thank you for the Continuous help,

In case anyone else has this problem.I figured out how to fix it. I don't know exactly what was wrong but I had installed Gallery2 using the preinstaller. After uninstalling and reinstalling the full version on my own and uploading all themes it works fine now.

Hello, I am running the latest version of gallery integrated with Xoops at http://www.craigkin.com . The integration can be found here http://xoopsgallery.org/
The problem is that the "view cart (0 items)" always displays even when the module is not activated. The xoops integration places the menu in the Xoop's side column. This is the only theme it happens in.
Thanks

Hello,
I just started working with G2 and I'm digging it so far. I found your theme and loved it... I downloaded your FULL zip and unzipped it... I am unable to unzip it from within my server. I unzipped it on my comp and just need to know which folder goes into which folder. Can you relay that info to me please?
Thank you for your time and even moreso, for creating such a well laid out theme!

layer9, the print Icon should be implementable, look where the theme displays the exif and Comment Icons ... there should fit a similar bloxk with a fitting printer icon. The downsizing will be a bit more... I have first to find how to get the resize...

Has anyone figured the solution to Draculas problem with Firefox on a Mac?
Quote:
(...) but with firefox there is a problem ( only on the mac ! )
When viewing an image, it just shows the "loading image" but no image is loaded.
occasionally some images load. The same hapens if you select one of the images from the left side where the small thumbs are but like I mentioned, only on firefox on a mac.
strange.
anybody else with a mac here that could take a look ? http://lcx.at/foto/main.php?g2_itemId=47969
When I hit refresh it will fade in the image ( but not always )
I'm having the same problem. The pages work fine in all browsers I have tested on both PCs and Macs, exept in Firefox on the Mac. It seems Dracula has not found the solution, 'cause his gallery still has these problems.
I'd be grateful if anyone has a fix!
I also have the same problem on mine. It also affects Netscape on Mac. It is a real PITA as the stats for the last 2 or so months show that Firefox was the #1 browser used to view my site. Most of course were Firefox on Windows but I just decided to ignore the problem and stop using Firefox or Netscape since they reminded me or the problem lol.

If I have "OVERALL :: Link Albums directly to photo pages " then I have a problem with Hidden Albums...
I can't use a direct URL to go to a hidden album link.
I've I unhide the album it works OK. If I re-hide the album and hit refresh the microthumb navigation thumbs disappear...
Make sense?
Any ideas?

just change the img src-statement

Lutz,
OK i got the image to resize and that seems to simi work. There is still in issue with the resize on the actual output print. I have also added a print button on the actual full screen image for printing and that seems to be working. I want to tweak it a little more so that there are other options on what size to print then stay hidden from the print. This is a challenge in itself. The sizes i am playing with are e.g. 4x6, 8x10 etc per users request. This may call to add a form in a way then add the options from there. I will work on your other idea about adding the print Icon under the image next to the exif icon. I am sure that wont be to hard to add that. I guess i will save the easier part for later.

When you unrar or unzip the files that should already be in the catogories. All you need to do is upload them to your server via FTP or other means. Once you add the files you will need to install it on your server through setup. Once you have all your files uploaded to your server goto e.g. /home/localhost/www/mydomain.com/gallery2 and you will see the admin install page. Follow the instructions from there and you should be set in no time....
Hope this helps..

I'm looking for a way so that users dont have to go looking for comments. Its nice to be able to just click on something for it to show all comments to an album or all comments within my gallery....i just feel like im missing out on some of the features of this theme.
Is there another theme that would give me more features for my end users? (i.e., see comments for albums/gallery, numbers at the bottom of each image)

Hello All,
Pardon me for this basic question for I am new to Gallery and The PG Theme. I would like to have my logo appear in the center of the page rather than on the left. If you know where I can set this variable I would certainly appreciate your answer.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Excellent Theme!
I can't get certain features to work quite right though. The one of most importance to me right now is getting the "View Cart" and "Add Cart" controls working on the different NAV bars:
If I switch them to the TOP NAV BAR, the "Add Cart" icon displays and works, but the "View Cart" won't display at all.
If I switch them to the PHOTO NAV BAR, neither of them display or work.
Background:
- Completely reinstalled Gallery and Theme to new location (downloaded latests versions of each yesterday)
- Single Album, with one sub-album and pictures.
- Shopping Cart is enabled and permissions granted (I'm using the Cart for the "Zip Download" feature)
- Added Cart module to the appropriate Photo Block (actually, I even added it to all blocks for testing to no avail)
- All "...Add Cart" checkboxes are checked where appropriate
I also can't get these modules to work properly on Album pages either (only happens with this theme).
I did start looking at the templates and noticed that the navigatorTop template uses different nomenclature ("cart" for example) than the navigatorPhoto template ("cartpic"). Tried changing a few items to match, but nothing helped.
Any thoughts are appreciated. Forgive me if already answers - I started reading through this thread, but at 25 pages, it got to be too much, especially since I can't figure out how to search only this thread.

Hi,
Two days ago I added PGTheme to my gallery. First of all, it's fantastic. The theme, colorpacks and the general design is perfect... It is exactly what I had been looking for weeks... Thank you for creating it and offering it for use...
Now my questions: To start, I seem to have a couple of bugs happening. I added the Digibug module to my site and because of this I deactivated the other printing modules... The problem: even though I deactivated them, they still appeared in my user permissions menus... I removed them from the various galleries that they were appearing on but they never fully disappeared... Secondly, today when I logged into my site the EXIC (not sure that this is right, running from memory at the moment) suddenly appeared in my galleries but not on all of the thumbnails... Don't know why, it just suddenly appeared. I deactivated this module as well. Any idea why this may have happened?
Lastly, is there a way to add a "view your cart" button to this theme? When I add a photo to my cart and then follow the link back to the gallery I can't seem to get back to the cart without adding another image... Is there a way or a check box that I am missing that will allow me and my users to simply go back to their cart if they don't want to add another image to it?
Thanks again and take care!

I think i am at a good point of the PrintPhotos.tpl. I have added a few new lines to the LocalPrint module. Now the ability to change any original size images to 1024x768 and center the image to print. All you need to do is click on the actual image and it will print. I am working on a print form that will be able to select different sizes. 4x6 5x7 etc. Once selected it will print that particular size automaticly. It still needs a lot of work. Any suggetions on a form structure?

You have the menu bar set up as "floating", you can always change the menubar to "static" and this will remove the bar from right click. On the other hand this will enable yoyr menubar to stay on the actual screen at all times. There are other options for the right click that you can do. To do this go to "Site Admin" and then click on "themes" then "PGTHEME" then goto "OVERALL" there you will find options to make the

This will help you so when they right click on the image it will ask them to "Save Image As"
I am currently working on a print picture option directly from the album this will allow you different sizes to print etc. This is based on the localPrint module. Stay tuned if interested.

I installed PGTheme into my gallery (latest from SVN). I am getting a lot of errors.
For example, administer theme complains about missing 'type' index in $setting['type'] expression. And indeed, theme.inc has several $setting assignments that don't have 'type' index. Even if I add all those missing values, I am still getting other errors.
The issue is *not* specific errors - I can debug them, if neccessary. The question is, am I using the obsolete file ( http://pgtheme.home.sapo.pt/PGtheme_V1.1RC1_Full_G2.1.zip )? Or the changes in the codebase caused the problems for the theme? Or there is a patch that I need to apply?
I didn't install modules that come with PG - but my corresponding modules are disabled, anyway.
Thanks

Anyone I have a rather bizzare problem. It is bizzare because it should be simple.
If you take a look at my site, the gallery main page has 6 items arranged on 2 rows with 5 items across with 1 under. I want to make it 3 across on both rows. So in I go into the theme admin and change the relevant boxes but no response.
I can change the order of the items in the individual albums but it just doesn't respond on the main galerry change. It has got me stumped. I cleared the cache, deleted template cache etc but no dice.
Can anyone help???
Thanks
***Update***
I have hidden one of the albums as I just can't stand things being out of sync so I will rather have just 5 in a neat row if I can't have 3 & 3 in two neat rows.
Now I have another problem (it was there before) The spacing between the album thumbs is out of sync. The spaces on the left side of the screen are bigger while those on the right are smaller. Can anyone please help??
Thanks a lot
***Update #2***
This post seems to suggest it may have something to d0 with nested albums (I started having the problem after putting in a third nested album)
virshu, SVN is already 2.2 ... there are a few changes... I posted some patches in different threads for 2.2
Is there a cumulative patch that I can apply? Or better yet, a version of the theme that can be used with 2.2-SVN?
Thanks

Hi,
When I tried installing the color packs in the module folder I got this message:
Select different color palettes for themes
Incompatible module!
Core API Required: 6.4 (available: 7.3)
Module API Required: 2.0 (available: 3.0)
in the modules section in the site admin.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong to get the colorpacks to work.
Any help would be great!
Thanks.

raggden,
download and reinstall the right version of the colorpack module from this page:
http://codex.gallery2.org/index.php/Gallery2:Download#Modules
That should sort out the Incompatible module! error you see.

If not try that first and post back a URL of what you want to change.

few questions on this theme....

Lfrank,
I have seen that post and wouldnt mind trying to work with that but i wanted to see the demo on his site.

I think it sounds like you are refering to bread crumbs this option is also availible in the "Themes" it just needs to be enabled.

layer9,
've updated the localprint for Gallery 2.2 (you have to possibly adjust the module.inc to your version.
It adds the "Print to local printer" for the highest allowed version - but you need to have access to one of the resizes or it won't work (will have to add some checks). The command is available from the Cart too.
It opens the biggest resize in the browser window to execute the browser pront command...
Can you try the attached file?

I got #2 fixed... The permissions are quite confusing and i just went in and reset them all to match the albums that were visible. Still could use a hand on 1 and 3.

yahtzee,
1.) PGtheme shows the little "View Comment" icon below the albums/images whenever a comment is added (just beside the "Add Comment" Icon ... just like on the screenshot below, clicking this will pop-up the comments. It only appears when comments are available.

3.) not possible directly - you can only see that there are other pictures by the "<" and ">" Icons, a display of the image number isn't yet implemented - only on the Lightbox PopUp in Album View.

Lutz,
OK didnt read the fine print LOL (sorry about that) ok i got it to work.

Hello, I am running the latest version of gallery integrated with Xoops at http://www.craigkin.com . The integration can be found here http://xoopsgallery.org/
The problem is that the "view cart (0 items)" always displays even when the module is not activated. The xoops integration places the menu in the Xoop's side column. This is the only theme it happens in.

Make sense?

Lutz,
OK i got the image to resize and that seems to simi work.

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Is there a cumulative patch that I can apply? Or better yet, a version of the theme that can be used with 2.2-SVN?
Thanks

virshu, the later - a version update with some additional gimmicks (until Pedro catches up)
It's in the 3rd Party forum - look for my posts and lightbox if you are brave to try it
