Patrick, your page looks great - have to think if I don't enlarge my thumbnavigator-block, too ;)
(btw. did you disable 'commenting' ?)

Lutz...

thank you. I still incorporate your "light blue hack" for the links. ;-)

YOUR site is always stunning. Yes, I did for the moment and now I cannot make it appear for photo only. It would appear the "add comment" will not persist if add comment is not left enabled on the "item view". In addition, they only persist if I am logged in as Admin - as soon as I log out they disappear. It sounds like an "ownership" issue. I need to check the ownerships and permissions up and down the directory structure.

Pedro is taking the features and flexibiliy of this theme to a new level.

patrick

Quote:
<a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="window.open('{g->url arg1="view=core.DownloadItem" arg2="itemId=`$theme.item.id`"}','viewWindow', '{g->text text="width=%d,height=%d" arg1=$theme.sourceImage.width+40 arg2=$theme.sourceImage.height+40}, resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes' );">

and now is

Quote:
<a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="window.open('{g->url arg1="view=core.DownloadItem" arg2="itemId=`$theme.item.id`"}','viewWindow', 'width=(screen.width)px, height={$theme.sourceImage.height+30}px, resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes' );">

Individual themes can override the default theme setting (set it to PG). Go to an album not using the default theme and go to "Edit Album". There should be a setting on one of the tabs where you can select the theme from a dropdown box. Set it to <<default theme>>.

Alexb, Before the popup window displayed at full picture size, now it displays only screen size, but (you can't see more) but if you can rezize it, and clicking on it will zoom in to full size.

Patrick,

I have the same issue with the comments - I think the reason is deeper. I only get the nice "Add Comment" Icons when logged in - as guest, they're not visible, but right clicking or using the Options Links shows the "Add Comment" as valid option to be selected even for the guest. Strange, I'l start a new thread on this to see if somebody else has the same issue.

Your answer makes sense. But, having said that, it would be a very nice feature to allow for non-registered visitors as well.

Thank you.

Patrick, I've made a small hack until Pedro fixes that - would you like to test?

Pedro, perfect - as I see on your test site, you're already working on it and on the option to display existing comments on album level, great :))

Since RC2 the columns are no longer evenly spread across the width of the screen. This happens if any of the items in an album have a longer description then others.

Do I have a setting wrong or is this a bug?

What is the background color of this theme?
I made a new logo and logoon and used #ADADAD but it is not exactly the same color as the background of my gallery ... ??

When I made my custom logo I just copied the logo and logoon files from their directory inside the color pack I was using, then modified those files. Saved me the trouble of having to figure out the proper image size and color.

Hello.

If you look at the preferences you will find the theme supports multiple colors, so it is imposssible to answer you. You need to poke around the gallery2/modules/colorpack/packs directory and get a feel for the CSS construction. Each color has a properly colored logo/logoon image, etc.

Great theme!

One question, it wasn't immediately obvious to me how I change the color scheme, for example from the default grey to the snow white.

Thanks in advance

Have you loaded the theme, and activated it?

In the Site Admin, themes menu tree, is every possible variation you can image and multiple PG color schemes to choose. Pedro keep adding features.

But, ALL of the themes allow color changes across the board. I think you need to dig in and poke around these feature-rich themes - including PGtheme.

patrick

Hmm, yes the theme is active and I see a long list of options, but I was expecting a toggle switch to change to the various color schemes. Is setting the color scheme more of a manual effort than this?

Thanks

About ten days ago I had the following question onwhich I did not get any reply or advice. Could anyone please help me with this?
My question was:
I changed the logo and logon in PG theme but did not change the pixelsize. Nevertheless the width size of all pages has changed slightly so that the text 'Options' and the word 'reserved' (from the line 'all rights reserved') are cut off like you can see in the attachment. Also the right and bottom slider bar got the same colour as the page background and can not be seen clearly.
Can anyone of you inform me how I could change this small but annoying feature?
Appreciate your help. Regards.

cs2_1979, that's not the normal behaviour - if I'll check this on my page, this part simply wraps to the next screen line if the window width is too narrow (I'm using customized logo's aswell). Which browser are you using?

LFrank,
Thanks for your reply. You are right: in firefox the pages are perfect, but in Internet Explorer there is this cut-off text.
Do you have a suggestion where I possibly could change this for IE users? Of course I cannot oblige visitors to install Firefox first before visiting my gallery.
Appreciate your help very much. Regards.

PG Theme

The theme was upgraded again, you can download "PGtheme_V1.0RC4.zip" (RC Version 1.0).

http://pedrogilberto.net/gallery2/PGtheme_V1.0RC4.zip

- The actions buttons (view comments, add comments) controled by permissions
- Corrected Top Navigation separator behavior

If you noticed any bugs let me know, i'll try to solve it as soon as possible.

Hello...

I fixed my previous "shopping cart" icon issue by removing the option to "show action items".

I am sorry to report the 'add comment" icon does not appear for other than Admin user. When you indicate the icons are "controlled by permission" I am unclear how to manipulate permissions?

patrick

I like to change the way the album thumb table looks.
I have thumbs in all different heights and with the titel, the descriptions etc. below, the look is a little messy I think.
Let me explain what I want.
A thumb on top of the table-cell, but the text at the bottom of the same cell because all the text will stay on one line at the end...
Is that possible??
Attached are two pics. Pic1 says how it looks like right now and pic2 is how I like to have it...

It is really a great theme,
I found that if user adds a comment to the first item in the album, it is not assigned to the first item but to all other items.

I realized that if there is only one image in the album full size icon and comment icons are not shown. The full size image in the "size" dropdown menu is not shown in the popup window.

Great theme. I like the updates to the microthumbs in the recent RCs!

I really like the loading photo pacifier. I noticed a problem with it, though: if the center of the photo is not very bright, then the rotating bars are visible even after the photo has loaded. Here's and example: http://themartiens.com/Gallery/v/stencilandbed/IMG_2239.jpg.html . This seems to be a problem in Firefox, but not in IE (how rare!). Any ideas?

Pedro,

in additon to the adminIssue Patrick already reported, my "Icons" for Add, Read and Cart arn't bottom line aligned (fixed that by editing my gifs to have same sizes).
In addition, I propose the following change:
With RC4 you have introduced that the special icons are only displayed if "Show Actions" is enabled. If your "Admin" you get only the nasty dropdown. I have Show Actions disabled but still want to see the Comments and Cart Icons for my Guests. I changed the Block in album.tpl from

if ItemActions
-- if isAdmin
---- full Action Block
-- else
---- individual Actions
-- /if
/if

to

if isAdmin
-- if ItemActions
---- full Action Block
-- /if
else
-- individual Actions
/if

In addition, I switched the navigatorPhotoTop and Bottom back to the RC3 versions - I couldn't find the reason but my center Icons (Full popup, Photo Properties and Add Comment are like pressed into a too small frame and not displayed completely. The only change I see is the change from class navtopic to navaction which has a smaller square defined in the theme.css (25x22 to 18x16).

Pedro, one more... the first item on an album page never shows the "View Comment" even if a Comment is there and visible on the others icons. You see it on your test page too, "Landscapes" shows no "View Comment", the others do.

That kicks me to an enhancement. It would be great, if on an album page the individual pictures would link to the ID of the album but there own ID. This would cause items in an album to only show i.e. the "View Comment" if this Item really carries one or more comments (Item Info shows already the number of comments)

Pedro,

I was able to restrict the appearance of the "View Comments" Icon to those items which really contain a comment by changing the line

          {* Load up the Comments data *}
          {g->callback type="comment.LoadComments" itemId=$item.id show=$show}

to

          {* Load up the Comments data *}
          {g->callback type="comment.LoadComments" itemId=$child.id show=$show}

to
but I was unsuccessfull to really load the related child comment instead of the 'father' comment.
That brought me to another 'insight'. If the buttons would really trigger the childs, the first page would need to either have an additional button or display the comments in the old fashioned way (what I would prefer, using the first page as a kind of diary,
having only admins allow to comment the root)

What do you think?

Pedro,

I was successfull linking "Add Comment"" and "Add to Cart" to the childs (<a href="{g->url arg1="view=comment:AddComment" arg2="itemId=`$child.id`" arg3="return=`$theme.item.id`"}")

I'm only missing the option to get the block displaying the child comment - how is that fetched?

{g->callback type="comment.LoadComments" itemId=$child.id show=$show}
 {if empty($item)}{assign var=item value=$theme.item}{/if}
 {if !empty ($theme.params.OtherBlocksBtn)}
 {if !empty ($block.comment.LoadComments.comments)}
 {if !empty ($theme.params.ItemsActionsText)}

Changing $theme.item to $child didn't fix, it only shows an EXIF but not the one of the child

Great theme - love it.

I have the following issues:
[*] The EXIF pop-up does not work for me in neither Opera 8, Firefox 1 og MyIE (clone using the IE6 rendering engine). I have tried it on another machine at work with Opera
[*] The photo (EXIF) icon overlaps the comment icon in all my browsers.
[*] In Firefox I get "Add to cart" icon - I have no cart installed.

Suggestion: Would it not be nice to have the photo visible that you are commenting on - when commenting on a photo?

I forgot another issue: in Firefox I can click on the image and get a full screen version in a new window - although I have set it not to (as there is no watermark on the image this way).

Pedro,

I've managed to get everything working - the "Purchase Cart" and the "Add Comment" to work on the individual entries of the album, add album specific icons for these on the Album Navigator and to have those in the first page (author part) aswell.

But I fail to retrieve the individual comments of the album items - clicking it always pops up the comment of the album itsself and not the "child" comment. If the album itsself contains no comment, its empty.

Could you help me to locate the error:

{if isset ($theme.permissions.comment_view)}
	{* Load up the Comments data *}
	{g->callback type="comment.LoadComments" itemId=$child.id show=$show}
	{if !empty ($theme.params.OtherBlocksBtn)}
		{if !empty ($block.comment.LoadComments.comments)}
			<td class="actions2">
				<a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="ShowLayer('blocks','visible')"
					onmouseout= "blockB.src='{g->url href='themes/PGtheme/images/'}comments.gif'"
					onmouseover= "blockB.src='{g->url href='themes/PGtheme/images/'}commentson.gif';ShowLayer('blocks','hidden') ">
					<img id="blockB" src="{g->url href='themes/PGtheme/images/'}comments.gif" alt="Photo Comments" longdesc="Show Blocks" title="Photo Comments" class="navtoppic2"/>
				</a>
			</td>
		{/if}
	{/if}
{/if} {* comments view *}

I've this still into a localized album.tpl within the (foreach child) block displaying the album/photo thumbs and the info below the icons as you started.

Many Thanks

Hi!

This is really a wonderful theme; thank you very much! :-) Well, I may be blind... but I can´t find this nice frame around the pictures that is shown on the demo page (I talking about this round inner shadow). Could anyone tell me how to get this frame? Thanks an advance!

Pedro, I'm a step advanced - by using

  {if isset ($theme.permissions.comment_view)}
		{* Load up the Comments data *}
		{g->callback type="comment.LoadComments" itemId=$child.id show=$show}
		{if !empty ($theme.params.OtherBlocksBtn)}
			{if !empty ($block.comment.LoadComments.comments)}
				<td class="actions2">
   				{assign var="SelectId" value=$child}
					<a href="javascript:void(0)"
					onmouseout= "blockIC{$child.id}.src='{g->url href='themes/PGtheme/images/'}comments.gif'" onclick="ShowLayer('blockIC($child.id)','visible')"
					onmouseover= "blockIC{$child.id}.src='{g->url href='themes/PGtheme/images/'}commentson.gif';ShowLayer('blockIC($child.id)','hidden') ">
					<img id="blockIC{$child.id}" src="{g->url href='themes/PGtheme/images/'}comments.gif" alt="Photo Comments" longdesc="Show Photo Comments" />
					</a>
				</td>
			{/if}
		{/if}
	{/if} {* comments view *}

and

<div id="blockIC($child.id)" style="position: absolute; left:{$theme.params.sidebarL+140}px; top: {$theme.params.sidebarT+20}px;
z-index: 10; visibility: hidden; filter: alpha(opacity=93); -moz-opacity: 0.93; opacity: 0.93;">
  <div id="blocksICIn($child.id)" style="position: relative; left: 0px; top: 0px;
z-index: 10; filter: alpha(opacity=100); -moz-opacity: 1; opacity: 1;" class="gcBackground1 gcBorder2">
    {if !empty ($theme.params.OtherBlocks) }
{* Show comments blocks  *}

      {g->block type="comment.ViewComments" item=$SelectId }
      <table>
        <tr>
          <td style="text-align: right">
            {if empty($theme.params.colorpack)}
              <a onclick="MM_showHideLayers('blockIC($child.id)','','hide')" onmouseover="MM_showHideLayers('blockIC($child.id)','','hide')" title="Close">
                <img src="{g->url href='themes/PGtheme/images/'}close.gif" alt="close"/></a>
            {else}
              <a onclick="MM_showHideLayers('blockIC($child.id)','','hide')" onmouseover="MM_showHideLayers('blockIC($child.id)','','hide')" title="Close">
                <img src="{g->url href='modules/colorpack/packs/'}{$theme.params.colorpack}/images/close.gif" alt="close"/></a>
            {/if}
          </td>
        </tr>
      </table>
    {/if}
  </div>
  <br/>
</div>

My issue now is that I have no way to store the child.id in a variable like the blockIC($child.id) which I use to turn on/off the icons
to allow the comments to be attributed to the respective item.
Any idea??

ledo, If you look at his pictures, you'll see he's not using any sort of image frame. Those are how the images are, Pedro probably pre-processes his images to have that frame before uploading them.

Is it possible to have the thumbnail navigation above the image rather than next to it? My gallery is embedded so to keep from bumping my sidebar down, I either need to resize my images or not show the thumbnails navs (which would be a real shame).
