Hi SpookiePower,
The content and the image are located at the file /themes/x_treme/templates/extra/info/default.tpl
In my opinion the best way would be the following:
- make a backup of the files before changing them
- open the default.tpl in a text editor and remove the link to Pedros picture
- change the text in this default.tpl to your needs
Only removing the image will prevent the browser from displaying it - but the link to the image is still in the source code and is an error for the browser.

You can change these settings at the 'global' section in the site admin menu under themes.
FOOTER :: Display an EMAIL on footer Copyright Message (enter EMAIL below)
FOOTER :: Your EMAIL to display a link on footer Copyright Message (default: Gallery administrator Email)
But changing any of these settings, do not help me.

Yep i am running it with 2.2.5, but want to know how to create my own local template files.
anyone out there care to share !!
>Edit an Existing Theme's CSS File
In your chosen theme's folder (ex. themes/matrix/), create a new folder named 'local', not to be confused with locale which contains language translation files.
Make a copy of theme.css and move it to the 'local' folder
Edit themes/matrix/local/theme.css
<
You need to find the theme in your ftp.
/yourdomain/gallery2/themes/matrix/
In my ftp client, I right click on a blank space and click "Create directory" in the dropdown menu that comes up.
I think this is what you are asking for.

please do not take offense, as it is very difficult to gauge the experience level of people asking questions.
But I must state the obvious - it would be prudent to consider this theme dead. Pedro is too busy to work on it, despite the extreme (no joke intended) effort to produce it.
I have used Gallery for many years, and previously used PGTheme, etc. Unless you enjoy the effort to debug someone else's code, and feel the results are worth the time, I strongly suggest finding another theme - preferably a generic one - and learning how to modify it to suit your needs.
In my case, I found matrix to be very highly customizable. What it lacks in eye candy it makes up for with fantastic speed, and with a little effort it can come close to the visual impact of Pedro's work. I am not saying it matches it - but I am saying it can come close enough for my needs.
I dont take offence. I thankyou for being honest. I to use the PG theme and find it fantastic, i have found a problem when it comes to using the view most popular or latest uploads. there is no side menus or navigation, not a big deal, so thats why i went to xtreme, but came to the same conclusion you have.
I have spent way to long customizing the PG theme so i will stay with that at present, as i am no coder.
Check out your site very cool.
I see your into solar projects ( my arera of interest and work) !! Is this a residently home looks like a good setup

I would listen to patricks comments, the standard themes with gallery are written for it. the pg theme is good i like it but have spent along time playing with all the settings, if starting out i would go with a default theme and customize it.
Check my site http://www.noosaimages.com.au . This is usiig the pgtheme. A problem i have found is when you use the view most popular items and you navigate to the second page it returns you to the main.php code. I have tried to get help, because i have no idea how to debug this.

I have used PGtheme a lot and like it very much.
but I have never ventured into X-treme theme.
I have never used (or even noticed) most popular items
I am not sure why one would use it.
I think I am going to go look gor it.

To use this function you need to install/activate the dynamic album plugin (iam on gallery2.2.5.
Then this gives you the menu items in the sidebar menu.(from memory)
The reason i want them is so when i upload new images customers can just hit new upload items instead of me giving them direction to album directroies.
I use to use coppermine and it allowed you to display new images on the main plge of your gallery, it was a good feature as it was the first thing customers saw when they hit your website. I would like it for gallery, but the dynamic albums is the only thing i could find similar to this.
Have a look and let me know if there is anything better out there !!

hello guys,
Couple days ago after I changed hosting provider I export my gallery and install X-treme theme ver 1.0.6. Unfortunatelly I have some problems with configuration.
Main problem is (i don't know why) I do not see on my first page links I mean - 1st link title (on the left) and 2nd link title (on the right) in welcome message page. Both (I think) are set up correctly in ALBUM - Info Message block
Another wrong thing what I found is X-treme frame in STYLES section. When I select Display a frame in first position in XTREME FRAME and than I will open page with any photo I do not see picture - only description and it doesn;t matter if I select any of preset frames or create my own settongs - its always no photo and frame shown. When I unselect it (frame box) everything is allright. I remember that on old gallery everything was allright.
Anyone had this problems? or know how to fix them?
I found temporary solution for my 2nd problem - I mean that frames in style section - I just repleaced iFrameRender.tpl file from older (1.0.5) version and looks like working all right. So "visitkans" you can try this if you still didn't fix this.
I'm still trying to find why there are no visible links to pages like equipment or contact on the 1st page. anyone fixed this problem?
I am not familiar with X_treme theme but know it is an advance on PGtheme
In PGtheme Pedro has settings page in Site Admin/theme/ theme Tab... a very long page of settings in PGtheme.
It is set out in sections and the "Overall" section at the top has places to put buttons in the top of the Gallery-page (bread crumbs line... sometimes called Nav Bar) you state a name to show on the button in one line, and the url to it in the next. Things there are organised by the Theme templates, and their urls are simply author.tpl etc
He has author.tpl where he tells his own story, equipment.tpl where he lists all his equipment, etc.
Let me know how you get on and I will try to find more if you still have trouble.
(PM me if I don;t write, as my memory has been playing tricks lately)

Links in Nav Bar working perfect. Only one thing not working are links in author.tpl site. I set up name and filename in Album, Info Message section, but links are not visible!! On older theme was allright. If I will not find solution, I'll try to install older version of theme.
Anyway is anybody here who using x_treme in 1.0.6 version?
I do not use the version 1.0.6 since this version is still beta and some people seems to have some trouble with it. On my site I am running version 1.0.5 without having problems.
On which way did you installed version 1.0.6 - as a full package or as an update to v1.0.5?
The links to the two info messages are located at file album.tpl.
Perhaps it could be worth testing to replace this one with the file from version 1.0.5?
Best regards,
Jens
//edit:
There are more changes inside the album.tpl so I do not know which other trouble will caused by using some files of an older version.
As far as I understood the album.tpl I cannot see an obviously error inside...
this version 1.0.6 was installed as a full pack. I tryed to repleace some files from older version (I fixed in this way 2nd problem with showing pictures with style frames), but it didn't helped in this case.
Anyway today or tomorrow I will uninstall this version and install older one. Before (when I was using 1.0.5) everything was allright, so I hope downgreade will help.
I have one more qestion - maybe anyone could help me... How to change the background on pages which are opened from author.tpl site? I mean eg. equipment.tpl ? very often background is half transparency and I want clear one. In equipment.tpl file there is only some tables so no body section there. Maybe shold I use table styles???
thanks jens_k - I found them already before you post this message ;)
I just installed x_treme 1.0.5 and everything is allright now.

Thank you Pedro for a wonderful theme. Thank you forum members for helping to support this great theme.
I would like to put the photo description on the photo page below the photo. The config panel offers options for the top, right and left but unfortunately not the bottom. I would like it to go under the photo like the static comments do.
Does anyone know how to do this?
TIA

Hi TIA,
I rhink there is no option in Pedros amazing theme, so you have to modify the file photo.tpl located at gallery/themes/x_treme/templates/. If you did not modified an template file before I suggest you to read Editing_Templates.
Search for '{* static comments *}' and paste the following snippet directly before this line.
{* description under item START *}
{if !empty($theme.item.description)}
<tr>
<td style="text-align:left" valign="top">
<p class="giDescription">
{$theme.item.description|markup}
</p>
</td>
</tr>
{/if}
{* description under item END *}
Jens, you are the best. Your code worked fantastically.
Thank you so much.
Best regards,

@Pramod:
Could you please post an URI to your gallery, so we have a chance to have a look at it? The modifications are depending on the choosen options for the photo page.
@mike:
What kind of problem do you have? Have you give the permission to see/change the rating system? Have you activated the rating block in the theme options? I do not know the correct terms for this module because I did not have it, but I am remembering ;-)
Yes, Pedros amazing theme is not xhtml valid. He to busy to work on it. I do not know if he will find the time in future to make it valid. If you have the knowledge we would be very happy if you could correct some of these errors or make it valid - this would be an great enhancement for the community which loves the X_treme theme ;-)
I am just starting with Gallery and themes and need a little help. I would like to take the gray box surrounding my albums off, but I can't figure out where to do that...

Hi and thanks a lot for your great work!
I use x_treme as my theme for Gallery2 (implemented in Joomla! with the Gallery2 bridge).
Your instruction site was very helpful, but there are some problems I still can't manage.
Thanks for your help in advance!
1) I want my visitors to watch my pictures only via a pop-up window (lightbox style), not via slideshow or resized images. Is this possible? 2) Whereas I managed to remove the logos in the footer, I still have the following line in footer's position: G2.2 :: X_treme by PedroGilberto.net How can this be removed? (Don't worry, I will mention your credits in another place *g*) 3) I can't find the setting to center albums/photos names. Please jog my memory.. 4) Small frames for my albums and corners would be great.. Is there any possibility?
Thank you!
Best wishes, Max

I managed to solve all problems except the first one:
Visitors of my site should only be able to watch my pictures via a "lightbox" pop-up window.
All other possibilities (slideshow, larger size in same window) should be disabled (well, slideshow is already disabled..).
Any idea?

Of course I can.
- removing "G2.2 :: X_treme by PedroGilberto.net": Copy your footer.tpl in a "local" folder in /gallery2/themes/x_treme/templates/local/ (you might to create it first), so your changes will remain when updating the x_treme theme. Now open footer.tpl (the one in your local folder) with any text editor and delete everything in it. Remember to name the theme's author credits in another place.
- center titles of albums and photos: I didn't manage to solve this problem, I think this might be a problem with gallery2 bridge. You might change appearance in the settings, but the title stays left-aligned when opening gallery2 as a joomla! element. No problem when taking the direct link to the gallery, text is centered there.
- frames for albums, elements and photos are available through the imageframe-plugin (http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:imageframe). Download and install it, settings can be found in the x_treme preferences.
I hope, this might help you.
I didn't get how to open pictures via "lightbox" pop-ups in the "x_treme" theme at all. Is there a special plug-in? Can anyone help?
Best wishes

Hi,
I updated gallery2 to 2.3 version today. I'm using x_treme theme and it looks like only slideshow not working - I see only message "This album has no photos to show in a slideshow". The rest looks allright, but I had no time to check all other functions very carefully...

did you tried the "Download GNU tarball" link at the bottom of the Sourcefourge SVN Repository? Seems that you can get the whole package there.
Hope this helps,

In my case, I found matrix to be very highly customizable. What it lacks in eye candy it makes up for with fantastic speed, and with a little effort it can come close to the visual impact of Pedro's work. I am not saying it matches it - but I am saying it can come close enough for my needs.
Best of luck.

patrick

I dont take offence. I thankyou for being honest. I to use the PG theme and find it fantastic, i have found a problem when it comes to using the view most popular or latest uploads. there is no side menus or navigation, not a big deal, so thats why i went to xtreme, but came to the same conclusion you have.
I have spent way to long customizing the PG theme so i will stay with that at present, as i am no coder.
Check out your site very cool.
I see your into solar projects ( my arera of interest and work) !! Is this a residently home looks like a good setup

I have just startede to use Pedros theme, but would like to get some help, when I run into troubles.
Do you think that, with another theme, it would be more easy to get help ?

I would listen to patricks comments, the standard themes with gallery are written for it. the pg theme is good i like it but have spent along time playing with all the settings, if starting out i would go with a default theme and customize it.
Check my site http://www.noosaimages.com.au . This is usiig the pgtheme. A problem i have found is when you use the view most popular items and you navigate to the second page it returns you to the main.php code. I have tried to get help, because i have no idea how to debug this.

I tried the matrix theme out, on viewing the most popular uploads i find that there is no navigation in the sidebar on the left hand side, can anyone shed some light on this even with a standard theme.

Anyone had this problems? or know how to fix them?
thanks in advance

Best regards,
Jens
//edit:

Maybe shold I use table styles???
thanks for all replies.

You will find the relevant parts in the file album.tpl. Search for
<div id="authorlink1"
and<div id="authorlink2"
.Best regards,
Jens

Hope this is what you are looking for ;-)
Best regards,
Jens

@Pramod:
Could you please post an URI to your gallery, so we have a chance to have a look at it? The modifications are depending on the choosen options for the photo page.
@mike:
Cheers,
Jens

(Don't worry, I will mention your credits in another place *g*)
3) I can't find the setting to center albums/photos names.

Any idea?

Can u post your solutions, as it helps others with solutions and i have tried to remove G2.2 :: X_treme by PedroGilberto.net.

Best wishes

Did anyone upgrade to 2.3 with xtreme theme on already? Any experiences?
Posts: 45
yes, don't upgrade if you are using extreme-theme. it wont work with gallery 2.3 , maybe we still have to wait for a new version of extrme-theme
Posts: 16
Hi,
I updated gallery2 to 2.3 version today. I'm using x_treme theme and it looks like only slideshow not working - I see only message "This album has no photos to show in a slideshow". The rest looks allright, but I had no time to check all other functions very carefully...
