Hello Guyes,

After I updated gallery to 2.3 I forgot to optimise database and delete template cache. I did this today and everything working perfect now - I guess should be no problems with gallery 2.3 and X_treme theme 1.0.5

so good luck and enjoy gallery 2.3 :-)

razambon: I had the same problem, but it was only a problem in Firefox 2 for me (not in IE 7). I found an easy fix for it: Edit navigatorThumbs.tpl. Do a search for the following line:

<table border="0" align="center" style="text-align:center; width: 95%; padding:0; margin:0;">

Right above that you'll find the TD element in which the table resides. Remove the nowrap property. Problem solved.

Hello Forum,

I am considering upgrading my gallery to version 2.3 and try Pedro Gilberto's new X_treme theme. I downloaded and installed the new versions to a test environment before attempting to migrate my current website (which is running gallery version 2.1.2 and Pedro's PGtheme). I have everything up and running however I have discovered two problems that I hope someone can help me.

1. I notice that when I click on the "Options" and the sidebar appears, it has the following error: “warning: block core.NavigationLinks doesn't exist".
How can I correct this error?

2. When I click on the X_treme slideshow, I get message: "This album has no photos to show in a slideshow. Back to Album View". I have placed the slideshow template in the location specified in the documentation. I create 4 albums and loaded a few pictures into each album. All albums report the same message.
Does the X_treme theme works with version 2.3 of gallery?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I'm new in Gallery2 world...
and also new in Drupal CMS (i use drupal6) !

I want to use it with the wonderful x_trem theme...
but i encounter a very old problem (see page 2 and 4 of this forum)

I have more than 10 warnings line on album views (not on photo view and or on the first page)

warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /.../public_html/photos/modules/cart/Callbacks.inc on line 47.

Note that i have the problem only in the embeded version of Gallery2, not in the standalone one.

I will try this solution...

Quote:
try removing/commenting the g->block for EmergencyItemEditLink in album.tpl?

I think this problem is solved inside Gallery, but it's strange to have it again in Drupal...
Is it due to the Gallery2 module ? (still in dev for drupal 6?)

Please help !
I want make it work !!!

Hi, first of all thanks for this awesome looking theme. It seems like this theme will allow me to do things that Ive been wanting to do for some time now. Ive been reading some stuff on this thread and noticed all the information is all scattered around. Im no expert but was wondering if someone that's "really really nice" down here can share their knowledge with providing some basic steps of what needs to be done when you download this team.

So lets say for the latest version of gallery 2.3 ..... #1 Where is the proper link to download this x-theme from. #2. After you download it, what is the next step that needs to be taken (upload or optimize gallery??) #3. I see some people asking "how do i remove "Pedro's picture" "Pedro's info" and so on. Maybe some explanations for what files to edit

I think that should at least cover some of the most common questions that Ive seen asked... Theirs over 500 posts here and we don't want make more then it needs to be.. So if someone can post a detail steps of "hows and whats" maybe we can just keep quoting that post and it will save everyone time in replying. Just my 2 cents, thanks.

are all files uploaded looks like theme.tpl is not there.
I stopped using this theme as it was buggy, do a forum search as someone posted good details about the xtreme theme might even be in this thread.

use the classic theme for testing if that works upload xtreme again

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but I can't find any other place that might help.I have an issue regarding the alignment of the album thumbnails. They're pinned over on the right as if there is a static bloack of space to the left. I've tried increasing the width of the thumbnails to fill up the space but it just pushes out to the right.

You can see what I mean at http://www.leighramsden.co.uk

Is there an option I've missed that controls the thumbnail alignment or, if not, something that might be causing the block of space to the left?

question number 1.... how do i make it so it "outlines" my pictures when you run your mouse by the pic in the thumbnails. http://www.j-roumagnac.net/index.php?x=browse&filter=last100

question number 2.... how do i add that background like in that same gallery? http://www.j-roumagnac.net/index.php?x=browse&filter=last100

Question number 3.... if i cant make my thumbnails square all pics 150x150 then how can i make it like this guys, where the vertical pictures are centered to the horizontal pictures.. thanks. http://www.j-roumagnac.net/index.php?x=browse&filter=last100

Hi,
A number of people had this problem, but I've seen no resolution. Gallery 2.3, x_treme 1.06. When attemting to navigate (browse) dynamic albums, clicking a thumbnail navigates to the actual parent album of the thumbnail. This is regardless of any of the theme settings relative to this behavior. If the theme is switched to Carbon, it functions as it should. Can anyone here give me a link to an example of x_treme working properly w/ dynamic albums? If not, does anyone know where I might begin to look in the template code to try to troubleshoot it? I'm squeaking by w/ HTML/CSS, but PHP is, well, a learning experience at this point...

I really appreciate any feedback, I'm stuck here w/ this otherwise awesome theme...

Just went through that one an hour ago. It's the sidebar template line

Quote:
{g->block type="core.NavigationLinks" class="gbBlock"}

located at:

Quote:
gallery/themes/x_treme/templates/sidebar.tpl

looking for the block

Quote:
gallery/modules/core/templates/blocks/NavigationLinks

That block doesn't exist in Gallery 2.3. Change the line to

Quote:
{g->block type="core.Navigator" class="gbBlock"}

or choose another block. The codex on them is http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Themes:Reference:Block

or delete it altogether.

Cheers.

I had this same problem after updating Gallery to v2.3. The errors do not come up viewing Gallery in it's standalone mode. When you try to embed it in drupal though you get the errors about scalar values in a few files. After playing around a little bit I found that defining the $block variable as an array gets rid of the scalar value errors. I have not verified that it doesn't break anything else, but at first glance everything looks OK on my installation. I am not a programmer, so anyone else who wants to give feedback is more than welcome.

I added the following line to modules/comment/Callbacks.inc after line 158 and to modules/cart/Callbacks.inc after line 45.

$block = array();

Let me know if it helps.

Hello,

I searched a long time for a solution but don't found one.

My problem:

It's possible to put the Navigation Microthumbs into the sidebar (or new Imageblock) for integration in joomla (with g2bridge)?

On my website ( http://guardare.de/joomla/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,88/?g2_itemId=1852&g2_GALLERYSID=TMP_SESSION_ID_DI_NOISSES_PMT ) you can see how it looks with Joomla 1 and Gallery 2.1.
In this "old" versions I can fetch the template generated html code of the microthumbs in a global variable and then put this html content in a new Imageblock.

I found no working solution for the actual versions. I can't fetch the generated microthumbs html in a new defined global gallery (2.3) variable. How define I such a new global variable to put Template generated html-code in it?

Does someone have a hint?

Thanks!

Uwe

Loving this theme and the options it gives me. Without this theme I wasn't able to use Gallery. By that I mean I didn't like any of the other themes without modification, and I'd always mess something up trying to modify them.

One requested addition to the theme is to be able to find out what I've changed. One solution would be an indicator next to each option showing that the option had been changed and a way to find out the default setting (maybe on rollover). Another solution would be to have a button that would go to a new page listing each option changed with my change and the default.

A second request is to be able to save the changes with a control-s (at least on a Mac, forgot what the equivalent Windows keystroke is). This is common on wikis and means one doesn't have to go to the bottom of a long page to find the save button.

WARNING when using Safari and with autofill turned on. I had the "X_treme Theme Settings" page open and was making changes and checking them out on another computer as a unregistered user. But then I when back to the main.php page and got a major error saying something like illegal action and I was locked out.

Fortunately I had not logged out of the other computer. But I saw my name in the error and realized I had entered my name in the copyright. Changed that and still had the error. Then looked at the error messages more carefully and realized my name must be have been entered somewhere else. Found it an about ten seemingly random places on the setting page, such as "STYLES :: " and one of them was causing the error.

Again, love this template and couldn't use Gallery2 without it. Now I'll click the donate button.

Hello, I have a problem using this theme. I am using theme version 1.06 with Gallery 2.3

I am trying to change the default colors and the copyright information at the footer. At the album level, I go to "edit album" and then click on the "theme" tab. I then change to settings to my desire, but when I hit submit, the default settings still appear. No error messages appears, it just sends me back to the "theme" menu. The default "2007" copyright at the footer remains, and the default number of columns/rows remain. In fact, I am unable to change any setting at all. I have tried changing the settings at both the album level and the global level...nothing works, the default settings keep reappearing.

Any help on this? Thanks so much.

The problem is suhosin - someone already wrote about this problem before - try to find on previous pages.
In my case the solution was adding in php.ini one line:

suhosin.get.max_vars= 500

this should help. If you can't change it try to contact yours admin.
Anyway 1.06 theme is still beta, there are some problems with slideshow etc. I recomend 1.05

Thanks for the tip. But it didn't work for me.

That line you mentioned was already in my php.ini

I then asked the admin to disable suhosin...he said he is impossible to do that...integrated into php...

Any other tips?

Ok I got it to work...I had to delete this line out from PHP.INI:

extension_dir = "/usr/local/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613"

then everything worked fine :)

Hi

I cannot seem to find an answer to the following two questions:

1. With the X-treme them, I can not display "keywords" - it will display summary and description details all ok. The Matrix theme is able to display keywords but I cannot work out how to paste the code from there into this theme.

Is there away that I can display keywords? I know earlier posts will mention it will, but following teh instructiosn will only display decription and summary.

2. Editing CSS for the theme seemes quite random?

An example: I edit giTitle in theme.css as I want to increase the font size and also put some padding between the thimbnail and the picture title, however editing the font size in giTitle does not adjust the font size?

I have tried adding extra css rules and can get the text to display for example in a different font and \ or align differently, but not padding \ margin or font size.

Any help pointing me in the correct direction will be hugely appreciated - I have spent hours trying to work it out but am now at a loss.

Thanks for your support

I have found the answers to the above post about Keywords and CSS and will post these in the event that the may help others (I have read similar posts in the past for people looking for answers.). Apologies to all those coders who have infinitely more experience than me and for my obviously poor modifications!

Keywords fix: In album.tpl lines 448, 858 and 1076 change "showSummaries=$showSummaries" to "showSummaries=true"

CSS - changing the Font size of the title (two major changes as both IE and Firefox behaved differently)

1. First to remove the Title from being a linked item - line 1009 remove " <a href="{$linkUrl}">" and line 1018 remove " </a>"
2. In Theme.css hide lines 2-13

/* Hack fix for IE5.x font-size not being medium as defined in CSS */
/*#gallery div, #gallery p, #gallery th, #gallery li, #gallery dd, #gallery td, #gallery tr, #gallery a {
/* more specific to override imported rule */
/*font-size: xx-small;
/* false value for WinIE4/5 */
/*voice-family: "\"}\"";
/* trick WinIE4/5 into thinking rule is over */
/*voice-family: inherit;
/* recover from trick */
/*font-size: x-small
/* intended value for better browsers */
/*}

3. add to css (without this, Firefox ignored any changes made to .giTitle and used #gallery for font settings"

#gallery .giTitle {
text-align:center;
font-size:14px;
font-weight: bold;
font-family:Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
padding-top:5px;

}

Hello all,

I'm new to Gallery, and have just purchased a domain and host.
I have installed the latest Gallery2 that I found on an IIS 7 with MySQL.

During the Installation I had an issue. In the System Checking I have received a warning message regarding the Output Buffering which said it was enabled.
The installation did not stop, and finished with no other problems.

I have uploaded pics and everything was fine until I changed the theme. After changing it to the X Treme theme I could not see any picture. All the pages were fine with all the thumbnails and text, I could navigate between albums but by clicking a photo I receive a 500 - Internal server error: There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

I tried to put pics in few sizes but it did not help.

I have a problem with the Watermark plug-in as well. When applying a watermark I used to have a 'broken picture' instead of a photo. Maybe it can help figuring what am I doing wrong.

When I roll back to the Matrix theme it works again.

Can anyone please tell me what needs to be done in order for it to work properly?

I really want to use this theme.

Thank you very much,
Uri.

Hello

I installed Gallery2 (v. 2.3) embedded in Joomla 1.5.9. Bridge 2.1

I have choosen the x_treme themes (v. 1.0.6). But I got a strange effect:

On album pages the left menu is displayed perfectly.
Klicking a photo moves me to Photo page.
But it makes the left menu empty and all menu positions appear below the photo instead (including also Joomla positions).

Has anybody any idea how to fix it?

Thank you

Hi,
I installed Gallery2(v.2.3) and chose x_theme (v 1.0.6) as default. But I am getting problem with the Slideshow functions. It doesn't work at Album page. For example: http://gallery.rongchaua.net/main.php?g2_itemId=15 . This is one test ablum. The "View Slideshow" link on the right works well. But when clicking on the icon slideshow at album, the slide show doesn't work. The link seems to be wrong : http://gallery.rongchaua.net/main.php?g2_view=slideshow.Slideshow&g2_itemId=15& . And it shows "This album has no photos to show in a slideshow" as result.
I'm looking foward to hearing from your help. I tried hours to solve it but it doesn't work (I tried version 1.0.5 too but it doesn't work too).

Thank you.

Hi,
I installed the x-treme theme (1.0.6) in my gallery (2.3) - but its impossible to save any modfied settings
only the global modification of the huge list of parameters works.
After reading this forum I think the problem is the suhosin parameters of the server.
Can anyone tell me what are the right limits for max_vars (and other ?)

THANKS

Reinhard,

Are you using the save button at the bottom of the page, "Save Theme Settings"? I accidentally used the one near the top. I doubt this is the problem, but worth rechecking before going any further.

Is the x-treme theme going to work with Gallery3? Or is a total rewrite required?

All themes and modules will have to be a total rewrite.

Hi,
the admin changed the limits in Suhosin setting and all works fine now! :)
... just take a look in your error_log - there I found the message that the POST exceed the limit.

Hello all.

I am using Gallery on a shared hosting and the X Treme theme.

I have a problem with frames. When ever I tick the 'Display a frame' I get a '500 - Internal server error: There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.' when opening a photo.
Does anyone know why and how to solve it?

I have 2 Howto questions as well:
I would like to make the footer sticky. I looked in the net and found 'Sticky Footer' but I can't get it to work.
The 2nd is how to set a favicon. I have put the favicon.ico in the gallery folder (it is not in the root because there are more websites in the hosting), what do I need to add and where for it to work?

Thank you very much,
Uri.

Hello

I installed Gallery2 (v. 2.3) embedded in Joomla 1.5.9. Bridge 2.1

I have choosen the x_treme themes (v. 1.0.6). But I got a strange effect:

On album pages the left menu is displayed perfectly.
Klicking a photo moves me to Photo page.
But it makes the left menu empty and all menu positions appear below the photo instead (including also Joomla positions).

Has anybody any idea how to fix it?

Thank you

i have this problem too. i have 1.0.1 on another wedsite and had the same problems there. i had to modify photos.tpl and change the width and alignment parameters. - don't think this was the correct approach to solve this but worked for me.

I now have the problem again on 1.0.6 of the theme and not in G2 debug mode i get a lot of "unitilialised string offset errors" in photo.tpl.php

not sure if that is part of the problem.

but for me the outer table around the photo is bigger than the available space. it doesn't shrink to the be tight around the photo. if i change the width from 92% to 75% in firefox, it shrink around the photo but the photo still sits outside of the embeded area messing up the page.

$block = array();

Let me know if it helps.

Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I am still getting.

Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /var/www/sjr/gallery2/modules/comment/Callbacks.inc on line 161

Warning: Cannot use a scalar value as an array in /var/www/sjr/gallery2/modules/comment/Callbacks.inc on line 138

I had the same issue with 1.0.6 version of the theme.

edit photo.tpl

approximately, line 1275

</td></tr></table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

</td>
</tr>
</table>

<br/>
{g->block type="core.GuestPreview" class="gbBlock"}

Insert the additional codes in bold above.

i have microthumbs on the bottom with no sidebars. I haven't tried any other configs, but works for me.

in photo.tpl, the following is the cause of the errors being produced
Notice: Uninitialized string offset: 1 in /smarty/templates_c/%%440549966/x_treme/%%69^69F^69F75951%%photo.tpl.php on line 6

It seems these variables have not been initialised

{* check for embedflash *}
{assign var='embedcheck' value=`$theme.item.description.1``$theme.item.description.2``$theme.item.description.3``$theme.item.description.4``$theme.item.description.5``$theme.item.description.7``$theme.item.description.8``$theme.item.description.9``$theme.item.description.10``$theme.item.description.11`}

should there be an empty test on these variables or is something else wrong?

my flash is working - with the .94v module replacement mentioned earlier in the forum
------
So, i've just changed the code as follows and seems to get rid of these errors.

{if !empty($theme.item.description)}
{assign var='embedcheck' value=`$theme.item.description.1``$theme.item.description.2``$theme.item.description.3``$theme.item.description.4``$theme.item.description.5``$theme.item.description.7``$theme.item.description.8``$theme.item.description.9``$theme.item.description.10``$theme.item.description.11`}
{/if}

Hello

Thanx for the great theme Pedro.

I am trying to change the floating position of the sidebar, but I can't find the way, I found this on the theme.css

Quote:
#floatingSidebar {
border-right-width: 1px;
width: 175px;
z-index: 25;
visibility: hidden;
/* Netscape 4, IE 4.x-5.0/Win and other lesser browsers will use this */
position: absolute; left: 15px; top: 15px;
}

but whatever I write there does not change anything...seems like it's been overwrittent by another page or order....

anybody knows how to do that ?

Alright, I think I'm missing something very obvious. . .I have a feeling this is a stupid question.

I've implemented the x_treme theme for one album in order to test the functionality. I wanted to skip the album page and go directly to the photo page, so I enabled "Link Albums directly to photo pages ." This works great, when I click on the ablum's thumbnail I am taken to the photo page.

Perfect.

Except, now I can't edit the theme settings because I can't access the album admin settings page. Since I'm on the photo page I'm only given the link to the photo admin page. I don't have any breadcrumb links showing (I don't know if that is due to one of my settings, but I can't get into the theme settings). Also, in the options flyout window I get the error "Warning: block core.navigationLinks does't exist." I don't know if that is contributing to my problems, but I thought I should mention it in case it's relevant.

Thanks for any help.

Hello,

It seems that I have the same rating problem as many of you.
I used to work before I installed Xtreme, but now nothing's work, I have tried everything, permissions, album prefs, etc.
The rating appears very well, I can see the stars and they react on mouseover, I can even see the link :

Quote:
javascript:rateItem(19459,%203,%20'/gallery/main.php?g2_view=rating.RatingCallback&g2_command=rate&g2_itemId=19459&g2_rating=3&g2_authToken=1309b2e814ad')

but when I click nothing happens, not even on other albums with other themes so I guess I have to repaire smth in the rating module but don't know what...

any idea ?

Found the solution for the floating sidebar....

sorry...my fault...

I did not see the line under the quote up above :

Quote:
body>div #floatingSidebar {
/* used by Opera 5+, Netscape6+/Mozilla, Konqueror, Safari, OmniWeb 4.5+, iCab, ICEbrowser */
/* position: fixed; top: 15px;*/

position: absolute; left: 15px; top: 15px;
}

and as I was testing with Safari and Firefox, I did not see any changes. But it works....

Nice ! :-)
