Not getting to/past step4 of the configurationwizard while upgrading 1.5.7 --> 1.5.8

Hi,
I just tried upgrading a well-working gallery 1.5.7 to version 1.5.8, and was able to pass the first three steps. However the 4th step is not as it should be. I only get to see the header saying i am in step 4. So none of the variables/values that normally show, nor any button to save them....

Hi

I have been on this 2 full days now Config wiz step 4 80 Errors ver 1.5.8 gallery - its not saving the infor i'm putting in on each tab why?? I need help desperately

Tim_j - first thanks tons for doing all that you can to help the gallery 1 community!

I put some research in this issue together with my hosting company (dot5hosting) and we came up with the following: when uploading gallery 1.5.8 there becomes a change in the php.ini file in the string "session_save" and makes it that it should turn off sessions. I noticed this since after uploading gallery 1.5.8 and it did not work, I re-uploaded gallery 1.5.3 (the original one) and it still did not save sessions. They fixed it for me, but was still unable to find the "session_save" string in my php.ini (maybe they were referring to "session.save" but did not know which one of the session.save strings needs the change).

Hopefully this should give a tip towards the solution. If anyone can figure out what string exactly needs to be changed from to what, I would appreciate it!
