How long will gallery 2 be supplied with security patches?

Hello, Gallery 3 seems to be currently the main target for developers. As I think it will be much work to migrate with all the modifications, I did to Gallery 2 and with my custom theme, I don't want to migrate as long as possible. Another point is the requirement to have Javascript enabled in Gallery 3, which I don't like and I would have to work around. How long do you think I may stay with Gallery 2 before I have to upgrade, as security patches are no longer published? |

Nobody has said security patches are no longer published, nobody. Before 2.3 was released (and in previous releases as well) G2 under went an extensive code review by a 3rd party security company. Here's one post about it:

Things do get missed, but we are not expecting to see any major security issues. You'll be able to use G2 as long as you like and it will likely be supported for years.
