The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version:
Apache version:
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):
Graphics Toolkit:
Operating system:
Web browser/version (if applicable):

Couldn't find all the info. the server is ipower and Powered by Gallery v1.5-RC2. I have tried this on several computers all using ie. PHP v4.4.7.

SERIOUS WARNING; The PHP option 'register_globals' is enabled on your server. Gallery highly recommends that you disable 'register_globals' unless it is required by software on your site. Gallery does not officially support 'register_globals' being enabled, and will attempt to disable it internally.

WARNING; Apache is not obeying the 'php_value' lines in your .htaccess file. Try entering the following into your web server's httpd.conf file:

<Directory /hermes/bosweb/web232/b2326/ipw.greatlakeschorus/public_html/photos>
AllowOverride Options FileInfo
</Directory>
If you are running PHP in CGI mode, this message is unavoidable.

i got to http://greatlakeschorus.org/photos i login, enter any album, in the upper right corner click the admin options drop down window, select add photos, the add photos window opens but it's blank. All other options seem to be functioning.

Just got this follow up from ipower tech support. How to do fix all these errors?

Hello,

I have checked the CGI error logs and it generates the fallowing error:

PHP Warning: strpos() [<a href='function.strpos'>function.strpos</a>]: Offset not contained in string. in /hermes/bosweb/web232/b2326/ipw.greatlakeschorus/public_html/photos/add_photos_frame.php(1) : eval()'d code on line 1
PHP Warning: gzinflate() [<a href='function.gzinflate'>function.gzinflate</a>]: data error in /hermes/bosweb/web232/b2326/ipw.greatlakeschorus/public_html/photos/add_photos_frame.php(1) : eval()'d code on line 1

It appears that the problem is with your script. Unfortunately, we do not provide support for custom coding. You need to debug the script on your own or you have to check with the developers of the code regarding this and fix the problem.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. We are available 24x7.

Sincerely,

S.A.

I would upgrade from a Release Candidate version ( not ready for production sites ) to a more recent stable version:
Latest stable release: Gallery 1.5.10 http://codex.gallery2.org/Downloads

Have they recently changed your server?

Dave

thanks for the responce Dave. The program came with the server, their tech support isn't very helpful, and I'm only a novice who can do some basic html and get around the ftp. How do I do this upgrade and keep all the data and photos from the other version.

I don't think they've changed servers recently but they did a major upgrade like a year ago.

Thanks Dave. I checked out the links and although they say it's easy they look a lot complicated than what I'm used to dealing with, asking me to do things and enter codes but I don't know how or where. I will look into it when I have time. Fortunatly for now the add photo feature has magically returned on its own (but same errors in the configuration wizard).

I'm not sure this matters but I don't remember the add photos window having a tip to use zip files.
