Upgrade from G2.1.1 to G2.3 -- and when will G3 be a stable release?

I believe this was installed originally with the preinstaller, looking at the directions i get overwhelmed.. is there a pay service for upgrading available somewhere?

Nevermind I found the 'pay for help' section..
wondering now who are the developers that do this work for pay?

Thank you. I am contacting the site owner with this info, encouraging them to use the services provided by the Gallery team. Hopefully I will be back soon and send in a ticket,
as I really don't want to re-learn everything I once understood about Gallery!
(the ole, 'if you don't use it you lose it' syndrome happening here)

The help I want is for someone to do it for me!!

I remember the pain of installing this .. on a dial up connection (shudder).
(took about 6 hours 2x )
I have satellite now but it isn't all that fast, I have access to SSH but have never used it as I haven't figured out how to use Putty.
Any way, I will see what the site owner will do. As upgrading from 2.1.1. to 2.3 is my idea, and I think a good one.

Yes, 2.3 is supported and has fixed many security issues since 2.1.1. There's also better performance tweaking options in 2.3 as well and a really cool slideshow :)

If you have heavily modified a theme, that's something else to take into consideration as well. You'll most likely have to redo all of those modifications as the theme system underwent pretty heavy changes somewhere between 2.0 and 2.2, I can't recall when though...

SSH access will make the job go much faster for the person who picks up the paid ticket and I believe it's cheaper too :)
