Here is my "issue". First off, everything works. Just not the way it should be, or so I think.

If any person connects to the site, all public albums are shown. Opening up any album displays all thumbnails with great speed. Everything is great.
However, if any user logs in and goes to any album, then the page draws are slow and you can actually see each and every thumbnail drawn one at a time. This goes for albums, images, everything.
So basically a anonymous user can see a screen full of thumbnails drawn in less than 3 seconds. A logged in user it takes about 10 seconds to see the exact same screen.
This does not happen with any other theme.
Why is it slower for logged in users vs anonymous users?

Idea's? Please?

I too have this exact same problem. For logged in users, it is incredible slow! Also, does the 1.2.2 theme that was posted, incorporate the "lightbox" effect. I am having a hard time getting the "lightbox" effect on my site. Looking forward to replies

I've just installed this Theme, everything seems to work ok except for a couple little things. I can't seem to change the background color of theme. I've gone into Themes -> :::::::::::::::::::: STYLES :::::::::::::::::::: - Settings applied all over Gallery (overlaps CSS and colorpacks)

And then modified the background here:
STYLES :: Gallery Background color [?]
STYLES :: Select Image to use as Gallery Background [?]
STYLES :: Gallery Background 1 color (Used as album and Photo table Background) [?]
STYLES :: Select Image to use as Gallery Background 1
STYLES :: Gallery Background 2 color (Used as Popups and MicroThumbs Background) [?]
STYLES :: Select Image to use as Gallery Background 2

If I try to use one of the Background images to change the background, that seems to update just fine. However anytime that I put in a hex color code, it doesn't seem to accept it. I've tried just the hex code (800000) and the hex code with # (#800000) but they don't appear to do anything. If I use one of the color packs, that seems to work but I still can't put in my own background color.

Any ideas how to fix this?

some graphics links to the webpage of the author http://localmail....

I have fixed it in my theme folder of version 1.2.2

Here are the instructions:

1) PGlightbox/theme.css
Search for: http://localmail.dynip.com/GALLERY2/themes/PGlightbox/images/loading.gif
Rewrite it to: ./images/loading.gif

2) PGlightbox/lightbox.js
Search for: http://localmail.dynip.com/GALLERY2/
Rewrite it to: http://myurl.com/galleryroot/

3) PGlightbox/images/lb/js/lightbox.js
Search for: http://localmail.dynip.com/GALLERY2/
Rewrite it to: http://myurl.com/galleryroot/

4) PGlightbox/images/lb/js/slide.js
Search for: http://localmail.dynip.com/GALLERY2/
Rewrite it to: http://myurl.com/galleryroot/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/

5) PGlightbox/images/lb/js/slide-old.js
Search for: http://localmail.dynip.com/GALLERY2/
Rewrite it to: http://myurl.com/galleryroot/themes/PGlightbox/images/lb/

The following files links already to the authorpage, but I can`t check this. I don't have the Ratingsystem installed.
PGlightbox/images/rating/theme.css
PGlightbox/images/rating/greymatter/theme.css
PGlightbox/images/rating/snow/theme.css

Any luck with the /main.php problem, anybody?

Other themes work flawlessly, PGlightbox is the only one with this issue.

PGlightbox 1.2.2, Gallery2 2.2.1

EDIT: from the debug mode I see the system complains that the $linkUrl variable is not set. Any clues?

Gidday Lutz! After a long hiatus resorting the website I am finally back to getting Gallery fully operational again -with PGLightbox, none other!

My clean install is having a bit of an issue though... I have created an album on the front page, uploaded 3 images to it for a start... but when I click on the album, rather than display the album contents as it should, all it does is reload the front page! Can't seem to be able to get past this. I'm pretty sure I'm running all the latest versions of everything. Would appreciate any assistance!

disregard previous: resolved (apparently) by changing SiteAdmin|Album|Show Welcome Message from On LEFT of all Album Pages to: On LEFT of 1st Page.

I'm not exactly sure how that was influencing what I was seeing previously, but hey, it works!

Now, Is it possible to go from the the album thumbnail image directly to the Lightbox pop-up of the image by default, without visiting the Photo page at all?

Hi there,

I have added a drop-down album jump menu to my album pages but it appears at the bottom of the page. I would like to reposition it to the upper right hand corner of the album page, but can't seem to find the code in album.tpl. What should I move to reposition this? You can see the site below...thanks!

Hi,
I had the same problem, nobody could help!
If you activate perma links and short url's in the theme it works.
Look for help in Gallery Codex

Hi all,

I've read all the threads about the PGLightbox theme, but i can't figure out why on my page, which you can't find here, the Lightbox feature will not function when you click the thumbnail in the Album section.....

Thanks for any advice

Yes, that's right.
But on several other sites when you click on the thumbnail, you'll get the lightbox, and that's what i want too....

That is a setting in the album actions - its customizable to go directly or via the lightbox

It doesn't look checked in that picture.. the checkbox on the right is "use global setting".. it's the checkbox in the middle that turns that setting on/off.

Hey Mindless,

I did turn that one on now, but when i'll go to the Album, it will not function at all, the icon below the thumbnails is now also a direct link to the photopage :-s

you have the "Use Lightbox to go to Photopage" tagged? It should toggle the behaviour between the icon below the thumb and the thumb itsself.
Have you tried to flush the cache?

Yes,

That's what i've done after placing the image.
After reading this whole tread, i came to the conclusion that it should work, but it won't.
I did flush the cache this morning, but still no change....

Is there a function or file where the whole settings for this theme can be found?
Can it be something with the URL-rewrite?

I would like to complement you on the work you've done on this theme!

I found an issued with Date and View Count being show on the Album page when I had turned them both off.

File: \templates\album.tpl

Line: 1350 Version: 1.2.0
Line: 1343 Version: 1.2.2

{if $theme.params.showItemsViewCount}

I changed it to the following:

{if $theme.params.showItemsViewCount != 'none'}

Line: 1332 Version: 1.2.0
Line: 1325 Version: 1.2.2

{if $theme.params.showItemsDate}

I changed it to the following:

{if $theme.params.showItemsDate != 'none'}

There may also be an issue with showItemsSummaries
Line: 1356 Version: 1.2.0
Line: 1349 Version: 1.2.2

I don't know if this is correct but it fixed my issue for now.

Hi,
my PGLightbox theme now works good, but one little problem should be solved.

On the album page I see going mouseover a picture the picture title and some html code.

Please look at the attachment mouseover.jpg, I hope somebody could tell me,
where the album.tpl has to be changed.
thanks

I have an issue with this theme that results in very poor performance in most browsers... generating a page will only take a second but for the browser to display the page will take up to 35 seconds on a dedicated server with 100Mbit and 1gb ram...

The issue seems to be the extreme use of tables, and browsers capabilities of displaying these with images inside them when not all the images have their width and height defined, this results in large load times as they won't display the tables untill all images are loaded (i'm told this is typical for IE, in firefox its less of a problem)

but when i look at the (130Kb) of html generated by this theme bits like this really worry me:

Quote:
</tr>
</table>
</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
</td>
</tr>

</table>
<table>
<tr>
<td style="height:7px">
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</div>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

<br/>
<table border="0" width="98%">
<tr>
<td>
<table width="400" align="center">
<tr>
<td>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
<table align="center">
<tr>
<td>

</td>
</tr>

</table>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>
<table align="center">
<tr>
<td>

It's very hard for me to believe that this is the optimal way to generate pages...

One of the pages i got this complaint about is available at this url: http://www.psygarden.net/gallery/v/Party-Pictures/Russia/Ultra-Music-Festival/

Have a look and tell me what you think please?

I have found another problem with this theme :/

In the theme admin panel, when you select a block to add to the sidebar (or anywhere else) you can never set the extra parameters for that block.

Like in the case of the Item Actions (or Album actions) in the sidebar, you can't change the Dropdown variable that changes the way the item actions are displayed (in a dropdown or in a list with icons)
several of the blocks that i use have extra settings but i can't define any of them...

Should anyone be able to help me with editing the admin.tpl file so that it does allow doing this, i'd appreciate it a LOT!!!

Kind regards,
Rik

Our block widget is not compatible with prototype. Hopefully it is ok for this theme to omit prototype.js on admin pages..

Change

    <script type="text/javascript" src="{g->theme url='images/lb/js/prototype.js'}"></script>

to:

    {if $theme.pageType != 'admin'}
    <script type="text/javascript" src="{g->theme url='images/lb/js/prototype.js'}"></script>
    {/if}

Is there a way to have the lightbox popup automatically when opening a thumbnail for a pic on the album pages?
In other words...for me when I actually open an image it just opens normally, and there is a small icon above the image at top center which, if i click on that icon then the image pops up into the lightbox display, and can navigate forward or backwards in the lightbox mode from there.

That icon is not evident, esp. since the picture is already being viewed at that time. Can I just have the lightbox activate when the image is opened?

you might want to try checking "ALBUM :: Items - Use LightBox to go to Photo Page" in your theme preferences

Hi RakiuraSkies,

I'm having the exact same problem. I changed the welcome message like you wrote, but that didn't help. Does anyone know any other fixes for this problem?

I have a brand new install of the latest Gallery with the latest PGlightbox. I have 3 photos only and they are all under 300px wide.

Thanks

I didn't find that issue.
Thanks

I'm having the same problem as Shadow_Wolf. Although Wolf's post is over 3 years old, I can't see a response that addresses how to change the background color for PGlightbox. If you can't change it, why is there a section called "STYLES" and options for entering colors?

When setting the PGlighbox theme, i am unable to enter a album that contains sub albums. ie

Root Album - CARS Album - pic1
pic2
TRUCKS Album - pic3
pic4

in the above when i select the Root Album it just refreshes the current page, instead of entering and then displaying the CARS and TRUCKS Albums?

Thanks

Hello,

hope you can help me....
I installed this theme and all works great ;) however I am trying to set the colors so they fit the rest of our Page. Now when I go to the Admin and change the backgroung color to say #ffffff and save, nothing changes.

I really want to use this theme but need to find a way to change the colors....

thanks

You can change the colors manually by going to:

/modules/colorpacks/packs/(choose the color that you have selected)

Then open the color.css

This will allow you to change anything you want with that color pack

Hope this helps:)

You might want to check the permissions on the albums. However if you are logged in as the admin you should have access to all albums. Just make sure you don't have it clicked down on the bottom as guest view. This would over right the permissions.

hope this helps

Hi there, I am trying to place custom info text on the first page of my albums. I see that with PGtheme/PG lightbox you can upload a custom "info message" and choose whether it should appear on only the first page, or every album page. However when I type the name of the tpl file in and upload it nothing updates in the album. Does anyone know how to add a different intro message to the first page of each album? Many thanks!

Hi! I have installed your theme. And it's the best theme yet. But got some suggestions.
How about using use Scriptalous visual_effect for comments, exif information etc.

http://www.ngcoders.com/ci/index.php/welcome/scriptaculous/

Like this wordpress comment plugin:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/ajax-comments/
http://ajax-comments.dev.rain.hu/2007/07/24/test-page/

Only that it doesnt a slide open button. I want it to be closed as default. But user can open it and look at the comments and comment themselfs..

And how about Scriptalous In Place Editing Demo for details for admins,

http://www.ngcoders.com/ci/index.php/welcome/inplace/

And what about adding the reflection.js? I have added it myself, but if it could be a switch for it, I would love it!:)

I have played a little bit around with the theme, so I got thumbnails prev and next buttons. But the lightbox function on the photopages dont work. Is there a way to fix this? And Select which buttons to put where. Like the Lightbox button, so that if I dont want the prev and next button under the picture i still can get the lightbox button?

And how about cleaning up some code? For instance what about a gfx dir?

I have putted all the .js files in /gfx/js and all css in /gfx/css and all images in /gfx/images.

And thats not why the lightbox function dont work on photopages, because it works on album pages.

Kind Regards

I have a question. How can I make it so that when someone goes to an album, they see the image at a certain size, and when they click on the image, it'll become a bigger image through lightbox.

Thanks
